1 Ontario Science Centre Wedding Package Thank you for considering the Ontario Science Centre as a venue for your Wedding Celebration. This information package contains venue details, including room descriptions, capacities, pricing, policies, and catering information. It is our hope that we may have the opportunity to work with you to create a beautiful and memorable event. We look forward to hearing from you. 1
2 Procter & Gamble Great Hall Our Procter & Gamble Great Hall is a grand venue for a formal event. It has the capacity to seat up to 600 guests for a banquet style reception, or 1,200 guests for a stand up reception. Surrounded by floor to ceiling window walls, and hovering over the Don Wetlands, this space offers excellent views of Toronto s natural landscape. Cloud, an impressive, chandelier like, art installation adds dimension to this space as it hangs from above and moves slowly, imitating the earth s ever-changing atmosphere. The hall sits at the base of two grand staircases, and provides over 8,000 sq. ft. of space (740 sq. metres). The Great Hall rents for $5,500 for the evening. An additional $750 staffing charge for an electrician would be applied. Groups above 400 guests would be subject to additional security staffing charges. 2
3 Hot Zone Our Hot Zone exhibit hall accommodates up to 200 guests seated banquet style with a dance floor, or 500 guests for a stand up reception. The hall s futuristic design with clean lines, steel walls and frosted glass make it a fun and playful space for a memorable event. The colourfully lit portals and interactive floor lighting adds visual interest and great impact to the space. Hot Zone is also a wonderful space to begin the evening with cocktails, prior to moving to the Great Hall for dinner and dancing. Hot Zone rents for $4,900 for the evening, for the first 320 guests and $12 per person thereafter. It is included with a Great Hall rental. The rental includes a limited number of tables. An additional $750 staffing charge for an electrician would be applied. 3
4 TELUS Conference Room & Mezzanine Our TELUS Conference room is located near the main entrance of the building. It is seats 150 guests with a dance floor. It has hardwood floors, a floor to ceiling window wall, and vaulted ceiling with central skylight. The room includes a 9 x 9 screen, tables and chairs. This is an ideal space for an on-site ceremony, or an earlier start reception, as it is available during the day and evening for rentals. Adjacent to the conference room is our Mezzanine and Bistro, which may be used as a cocktail space. These spaces provide an additional 3,000 square feet of space (290 sq. metres), which includes a Bistro area with seating for 100. A large floor to ceiling window wall runs along the length of this space and a vaulted ceiling with central skylight above allows for plenty natural light. exhibit halls. 5 Outdoor Spaces Great Hall Terrace Our Great Hall Terrace is a newly renovated patio overlooking the Don Wetlands. This space is approximately 4000 square feet (370 sq. metres) and can serve as a ceremony location, cocktail or reception space. This space is included with the rental of the Great Hall or Hot Zone. This terrace is not tented. Gemini Patio Our Gemini Patio is located near the main entrance of the building, and offers a quiet retreat in a shaded area overlooking the valley. The patio is tented with a green canopy tent, and can accommodate approximately 200 guests. This space rents for $1300 for the evening, plus additional staffing costs. 5
6 Catering The Ontario Science Centre has an In-house Caterer, Gourmet Cuisine, and works with 7 approved external caterers on our preferred list. Our Caterers are industry leaders, who will provide you with the quality and service you expect. They will work with you directly to customize a menu that fits your style and budget. We always recommend that our clients obtain 3 quotes for comparison. Catering is a separate contract. All external caterers charge a standard 15% landmark commission fee on food, beverage and staff. All rentals should be ordered through your caterer, including linens, china, glassware, flatware, etc. Serving staff is also provided through the caterer, and is responsible for the set up and tear down of each event. The Ontario Science Centre has a limited number of tables and chairs available to our clients for their events. Additional tables and chairs may need to be rented. Alcoholic beverages are to be supplied by your chosen caterer. A Special Occasion Permit is required for all events where alcohol is being served. 6

9 Additional Information Start times After hour events in our facility take place after public hours. Start times for events are from 6:00pm onwards, except for July and August, when events begin at 7:00pm. Arrangements can be made to have cocktails and ceremonies earlier on site, in private rental spaces. End time The Ontario Science Centre is open until 1:00am for private rentals. Event Set up Set up for events taking place in public areas may only commence after closing. Load in and out of event rentals, décor, equipment, etc. is restricted to hours when the building is closed, or to locations where public access is prohibited. Night before set up is limited and additional charges apply. Electrical Support An Ontario Science Centre electrician is required for all after hour events. The charge is $75/hr. 10 Audio Visual Our in house audio visual professionals can supply you with the equipment and technical support you require for your event. Additional costs apply. Parking Parking is complimentary for after hour events. Booking Information Applications must be accompanied by payment in full (non-refundable); except where the booking is made more than 3 months in advance, in which case a deposit (non-refundable) for 25% must be made, and the balance payable 30 days in advance of the function. Bookings not paid in full prior to this time will be considered invalid. Rental Space Due to the nature of our venue, our exhibit halls and public areas are constantly evolving. Displays and exhibits may change periodically throughout the year. We will do our best to inform our clients of changes which occur that may affect their event space. 10
