3 INSTALLATION DIRECTIONS How to Download and Install the Simulation Game 1. On the download page ( click the link to download the install files. Windows 2. 4 3. Navigate to the folder on your system where downloaded files are saved. 3. To install the simulation, walk through the onscreen steps by clicking Continue. 4. Right click on the downloaded zip file, and select Extract All from the dropdown menu. 4. The installation will select your drive and place the file in the Applications folder American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute

5 5. Browse to the folder you would like to extract the downloaded files into and click Extract. If you wish for the folder to open automatically after extraction, check the Show extracted files when complete box before clicking Extract. 5. To continue installation you will need to enter in an Administrator username and password. 6. The install files will extract into the folder you designated American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute 3

6 How to Launch the Simulation Game 1. Double-click on the extracted file. If you are unsure which file to double-click, look for the one with the Type of Application. This is the file you will double-click every time you wish to launch the course, so don t forget where you saved it. 2. The Configuration box will appear. You should select which choice best suits your machine, based on the minimum requirements and your computers specifications. If you choose to launch it in Windowed format, you will need to maximize the opening window to have it fit completely on your screen. It may take a little longer to open than you might expect, so if the window opens to a white screen, be patient while it launches all of the required files American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute

7 3. The Input tab will explain how to navigate the course. You will see this information again when you launch the course American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute 5

8 How to Start/Resume a Simulation Game 1. To begin, click New Game. This will allow you to play the free sections only. If you have purchased the game, you will want to click Enter Access Code and enter the code you received when you purchased the game. If you are returning to a previous simulation game, your progress will be displayed and you can continue from this screen American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute

9 2. To register, you will need to enter: First Name Last Name Organization These are all required fields. You will be allowed to use your Access Code to install the game on 2 separate computers, but you will need to enter the same information on both machines to install on multiple computers American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute 7

10 3. Once you have entered your information and hit Continue, you will see a notification that the course is Registering. This may take a few moments, so be patient. 4. Once the registration is complete a confirmation message will appear indicating that registration was successful. Click anywhere on the screen to continue to the course American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute

11 Navigating the Simulation Game 1. Clicking the New Game button will bring you to the initial instruction page for Level 1. Here you will be introduced to the course, navigation and features in the game. Once you are familiar with the navigation, click Start to begin the game American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute 9

12 2. Initially, you will complete the Lobby Audit as a tutorial. Once you have completed the audit, you will click Submit the Audit to continue American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute

13 3. Congratulations! You just passed the audit. Click Continue to proceed. A 70% is required to pass each audit. If you do not achieve a passing score on your first attempt, you will be required to make a second attempt. If you do not pass the second attempt, you will be allowed to make more attempts or move forward through the course. You may take as many attempts as necessary to pass each audit American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute 11

14 4. Follow the instructions within the game to complete the rest of the course. You may click Continue, Main Menu, or Print Screen American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute

15 Print/Share Score 1. If you choose Print Screen to track or submit your progress to an instructor, you will not get a print screen popup. Instead an image file (PNG) will be saved to the folder that contains the launch files. 16 Obtaining Badges 1. Once you get to a certain point in the course, you will be able to attempt to earn badges. Try to collect all 3 as you proceed through the course! American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute

17 2. You will have a set time to complete the audit and achieve the badge. Just follow the instructions and complete the audit with a 100% score before time expires. Once you collect all three, you will be deemed a Hotel Expert American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute 15

Go to Windows File Explorer and rightclick This PC. In earlier versions of Windows it may be called My PC. 2. Select Properties. This screen will provide information about Minimum Suggested Macintosh System Requirements OS X 10.8 or later How to Find Macintosh System Information 1. In the Apple menu, click About This Mac. 2.
