This story told to Lounelle by Eria..."the rumor of Uncle Alex and his brothers. Their parents owned slaves and had one slave who stayed and mothered them. She had a baby by one of these boys and was said it was Uncle Alex's. Whether or not who it was she called it Little Alex." According to GERTRUDE CRAIG WHITE'S MATERNAL ANCESTOR chart (from Ramona Chown) Alex is the brother of the father of Lewis and Dan LAYNE.
