1 Page 1 of 6 - Installation Instructions CAS Objects 06/ Revised: 03 Installation Instructions for CAS Objects Wall or Ceiling Elements Proceed with the installation of the wall and ceiling elements as follows: Please inspect the packaging units for any existing damage. If there is any damage, this must be noted immediately on the freight delivery slip of the carrier agent at the time of receipt and acceptance. This is the only way that claims for compensation can be processed through the carrier agent's insurance. Once you have removed the individual elements from the transport packaging, ensure that no more than 5 elements maximum are ever stacked on top of one another. During stacking please ensure that the fabric skin faces downward. This is the only way to prevent damage. To avoid soiling the elements, we recommend first laying out protective foil or similar. Installation step 1 Please verify the specified design/measurements for the acoustic surface with the actual room measurements on site. If the measurements coincide, you can begin installation of the mounting rails for wall and ceiling installation. Wall installation For installation on walls it is essential that the bottommost rail/first rail run perfectly horizontally. This requires that you work very precisely. Every deviation in rail mounting can lead to differences in the spacing measurements of the elements. The upper edge of the rail must be 11.5 cm above the bottom edge of the acoustic element (see sketch, page 6). The rails to be mounted on the wall should be approx. 8 cm shorter than the surface being acoustically built up. Prior to drilling the dowel holes for the first rail, check the wall with a suitable locating device to ensure there are no electrical or water lines or similar running through it. Where the locating device finds something, transfer the drill holes of the rail onto the wall to the right and left next to the spot using a pencil. Once all the dowel holes have thus been marked, drill the holes and set the dowels (the suitable number of dowels depends upon the wall). Following this, affix the bottommost rail to the wall e.g., using a cordless screwdriver. Insofar as the ceiling and wall surfaces are uneven, support the mounting rail such that it cannot bend or twist while being screwed in place, as with all systems.

2 Page 2 of 6 - Installation Instructions CAS Objects To ensure the angularity of the next rail, mark the side limit on the wall using a plumb line or a long (2 linear metres) spirit level. The arrangement of the rails can be viewed in a dimensioned sketch at the end of the installation instructions. Once all the rails are affixed, insert the wall mounting brackets in the rails. With the aid of the template the wall mounts can also be accurately aligned to correspond to the elements being placed. When installing the bottom outermost mount, check the distance to the corner, to ensure that the elements cover the rail. The grid dimensions of the elements determine the spacing of the wall mounting brackets. Once all mounts have been properly adjusted, they can be screwed tightly in place using a TX 20 screwdriver. After the rails have been affixed and the wall mounts adjusted, place the acoustically effective wall elements in the intended position, in accordance with the detailed design. Start the installation with the bottommost rail. The corpus of the elements contain an identifying mark. This mark must point in the same direction on all elements. To prevent soiling of the fabric skin, please wear the enclosed gloves. Furthermore, please take precautions to prevent soiling during installation. When suspending the elements ensure that these are securely inserted in the v-shaped grooves of the wall mounts. The mushroom-shaped anchors affixed to the rear of the elements slide into the mounts and are additionally held in place by magnets. By following this procedure, one acoustic element after another can be suspended in the guide rails/mounts. Ensure that all 4 mounts lock into place.

3 Page 3 of 6 - Installation Instructions CAS Objects A slight gap will remain between the individual acoustic elements. This increases the acoustic effectiveness of the overall design. By using the template, installation is simple and trouble-free. Ceiling installation For installation on ceilings, it is essential that all rails run perfectly parallel, just as with wall installation. In order to ensure the angularity and perfect alignment of ceiling installation, we recommend using a cross-line laser level to carry out the positioning on the ceiling. Here again, it is imperative to maintain the precise spacing of the rails, in order to achieve a perfectly fitting installation. Insofar as the ceiling and wall surfaces are uneven, support the mounting rail such that it cannot bend or twist while being screwed in place, as with all systems. Magnetic brackets are supplied as the ceiling mounting system. These make adjustment of the elements much easier. Attention, always observe! For ceiling installation it is imperative to attach an additional cable safety catch. This safety catch prevents elements on the ceiling from coming loose due to e. g. vibrations during an earthquake, etc. and falling on persons below. It must be strictly observed that the attachment of this safety cable be tested for sufficient strength. This is to ensure the prevention of injury to persons. The cable system should then be suspended in the respective grommets, prior to inserting the acoustically effective element in the mounting rails and locking into place. When elements of 210 cm length are to be suspended, the traverse must also be used. To prevent soiling of the fabric skin, please wear the enclosed gloves. Furthermore, please take precautions to prevent soiling during installation.

4 Page 4 of 6 - Installation Instructions CAS Objects Installation of suspended floor to ceiling elements The floor to ceiling element is suspended in a cable mount. This means that in the area of the placement, two holes must be drilled in the ceiling, in order to set 8 mm dowels and to screw-in the threaded element for the ceiling screw connection. Transfer the spacing of the drill holes precisely from the system mounting bracket interval of the acoustic element. Temporarily push the cable mount into the grommet, which is open at the bottom, and feed it out through the side. If you have pushed the cable mount too far in, press the grommet in the direction of the ceiling. This allows you to release the cable, so that the suspension cable can be pulled out again. The metal ring of the clamping bolt (Allen key) must be positioned on the suspension cable so that the acoustic element can be suspended at the desired height. The height of the mounting ring corresponds to the positioning of the system connection, which will be suspended subsequently. Once the acoustic element is attached, the fine adjustment can be performed again using an Allen wrench. Care must be taken to ensure that all mounting brackets are securely screwed in place. The floor attachment can be laid atop the subfloor. If the cable tension is somewhat uneven (slight distension of the cable), the still protruding suspension cables on the ceiling can be readjusted so that the cable tension is equally taut on both elements. Only after the entire floor to ceiling element is installed, should the protruding cable lengths be trimmed using a side cutter. Then the element hangs at an optimum position in the room.
