1 Cub Scout Roundtable Annual Plan The Product of collaboration between the Cub Scout Roundtable Commissioners and Stake Unit Commissioners
2 A Cub Scout roundtable is a form of commissioner service and supplemental training for volunteers at the unit level. The objective of roundtables is to give these leaders program ideas; information on policy, events, and training opportunities; and provide a forum for sharing experiences and enjoying fun and fellowship with other Scout leaders. When skillfully executed, the roundtable experience will inspire, motivate, and enable unit leaders to provide a stronger program for their Cub Scouts. Objectives As a Roundtable our program objectives are to: Give leaders program ideas Give leaders information on policy, events, and training opportunities Provide a forum for sharing experiences and enjoying fun and fellowship with other Scout leaders As Commissioners, our individual objectives are to: Inspire Motivate Enable unit leaders to provide a stronger program for their Cub Scouts Roundtable Goals At each Roundtable together we strive to accomplish these four goals: 1. Consistent value: There is value for every attendee, every month. We can help accomplish this by consistently meeting our program objectives. 2. Predictable meeting length: Pre-opener begins at 6:45, combined opening at 7:00, breakouts at 7:45, closing prayer at 8:15 3. Everybody feels welcome: At Roundtable, and in Cub Scouting 4. Everybody feels the Spirit: At least once in the general session, at least once in every breakout The program unit is an important part of Roundtable. It is an opportunity for many more leaders to be directly involved, to share their ideas and enthusiasm. It also sends a strong signal that Roundtable is an inclusive environment where everybody is encouraged to share what they know and do. The program unit is responsible for the gathering activity and introducing the core value and theme in the general session Cub Scout Roundtable Annual Plan Page 2
