1 Hack the Orchestra What is Hack the Orchestra? The Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony is organizing Hack the Orchestra - the first hackathon in the world that gives hackers a full orchestra to work with. This 36-hour challenge is open to ages 12 and up students and professionals. Hackers will come up with software and hardware solutions that will use technology to enhance the experience of a live concert. Innovative ideas could potentially be developed for use in concert halls anywhere. The KWS plans to demonstrate the winning solutions during a set of KWS concerts in September, Hack the Orchestra will take place at Centre In The Square and run from May 22-24, We expect 150 direct participants in the hackathon. The event is being publicized internationally. In addition, over 70,000 people across Waterloo Region access the Kitchener- Waterloo Symphony each year and will know about your involvement in this project through our print media, online presence, and live demonstrations of the Hack the Orchestra solutions. This innovative event will be a major draw for superb, ambitious talent and gives you a platform to deliver more awareness about your company to a prime, target audience. 2 Get The Most Out Of This Sponsorship Sponsors get the most out of hackathons when they: Bring mentors: A great way to connect with hackers in an informal setting and provide help with your APIs or technologies. Send swag: T-shirts, pens, laptop stickers, water bottles and other items. This is a way to promote your brand and leave a lasting impression. Sponsor fun events: We will include fun events to give hackers a break from their project by interacting with each other in a fun setting. Partner with us to make something memorable. Additionally, you can sponsor specific parts of Hack the Orchestra. $500 Fun Events: Give hackers a break from their projects and a chance to interact with each other in a fun setting! $750 Snacks: Hackers will be at it for 36 hours, and that takes loads of drinks and snacks. If you're willing to provide snacks for the event (especially late night bites), we will give you naming rights and brand recognition.
