3 IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS This manual contains important safety precautions and information for correct usage. Please be sure to read this manual carefully before use to avoid any damages to the device. Please do not place the product in hot, wet or dusty environment. Avoid dropping or clashing the product. Please select a suitable volume and avoid loud sound while using earbuds. Please turn down the volume or stop using if you get a roaring in your ears. Please do not disconnect the device while formatting, downloading and uploading; otherwise it may cause application errors. Please do not disassemble the product personally, and avoid cleaning the product with ethyl alcohol, thinner. Do not use this product in the areas which prohibit use of electronic devices, for example, in airplane. Please do not use this product while driving or walking in the street, or it might cause an accident. NOTES: This device does not support waterproof function. 2

5 Battery Installation Install or replace the battery when the battery indicator is showing low power(see the icons Battery Full Battery low on the right) as follows: 1. Open the battery door on the rear of the unit by sliding it out. 2. Insert 1(one) AAA battery (not included) as shown after figure and the polarity marking inside battery compartment. 3. Slide in the battery door. NOTE: Alkaline batteries are recommended for longer playing time. BATTERY PRECAUTIONS Follow these precautions when using battery in the device: 1. Use only the size and type of battery specified. 2. Be sure to follow the correct polarity when installing, the battery as indicated. As reversed batteries may cause damage to the device. 3. Do not mix different types of batteries together(e.g. Alkaline and Carbon zinc) or old batteries with fresh ones. 4. If the batteries in the device are consumed or the device is not to be used for a long period of time, remove the batteries to prevent damage or injury from possible battery leakage. 5. Do not try to recharge batteries not intended to be recharged; they can overheat and rupture.(follow battery manufacturer s directions.) 6. Do not dispose of batteries in fire,batteries may explode or leak. 7. Clean the battery contacts and also those of the device prior to battery installation. 4
6 Downloading and Transferring Files Pull out the cover of the USB Port on the Player as the figure below then connect the Player to the USB Port on the PC. Download MP3/WMA files into the unit. Power On/Off 1. Press and hold the Button for approximately 2 seconds to power on the unit. 2.To power off, press and hold the Button until Bye-Bye appears on the display then release the button. Earbuds Insert the supplied Earbuds to the Phones Jack on the unit. NOTE: Please select a suitable volume and avoid loud sound while using 5
7 earbuds. Please turn down the volume or stop using if you get a roaring in your ears. Hold Switch To avoid pressing any buttons during playback, lock the buttons on the unit by: ~ Sliding the Hold Switch to Hold position, will appear on the display a few seconds then all the buttons on the unit will not be functioning. ~ To release the lock, slide the switch to opposite position. Lyric Indicator During playback, if the Lyric indicator on the display is from( ) turn to ( ). It means the lyric of the current song is available. Press and hold the MODE Toggle Switch until the correspondence lyric appear on the display. Press and release the MODE Toggle Switch again to exit. 6
8 Indicators on the display: When a song is selected, the following screen will appear on the display. 1 Current Song s Name and Information 2 Lyric Indicator 3 Format and Bitrate of Current Track 4 Repeat mode 5 Current Track Number. 6 Total Number of Tracks. 7 EQ Mode 8 Elapsed Time of Current Track 9 Total Time of Current Track 10 Battery power meter 7
9 Main Menu When power on the unit, the main menu will appear on the display as below: Slide and release the MODE Toggle Switch to left or right to select desired menu. SYS(Systems) ~ If SYS (System) is selected, press the MODE Toggle Switch to enter. ~ Slide the MODE Toggle Switch to left or right to select the desired icon then press the MODE Toggle Switch to enter. ~ Slide the MODE Toggle Switch to left or right to set or reset. Press the MODE Toggle Switch to confirm the setting and exit to previous menu. ~ Press and hold the MODE Toggle Switch to exit to main menu. 1. In Backlight setting menu Backlight Set backlight auto turn off timer to 0 (Backlight will not turn off) or 3-30 seconds as desired. 2. In Language setting menu Language Set the on screen display language as desired. 8
10 3. In Power off setting menu Off time Set the auto power off (when idle) timer to 0 (the unit will not turn off automatically when idle) or 1, 2, 3, 4 minutes as desired. Sleep Set the sleep timer to 0 (Sleep timer will not function) or time minutes as desired. 4. In Contrast setting menu Contrast Set the Contrast level from 1-15 as desired. 5. In Memory info setting menu Memory Read the status of internal memory. info 6. In Firmware version setting menu Firmware Read the information of the software. version 7. In Exit setting menu Exit Press the MODE Toggle Switch to exit. MSC( Music) Playback If MSC (Music) is selected, press the MODE Toggle Switch to enter, the information of current file will appear on the display. Press the Button to start playback. 1. During playback, press the Volume +/- button to increase/decrease volume sound level. 2. During playback, press the Button to pause, press again to resume normal playback. 9
11 3. During playback, slide the MODE Toggle Switch to left or right to skip the tracks. 4. During playback, slide the MODE Toggle Switch to left or right and hold to fast search the specific track. 5. When finished listening, press and hold the Button until Bye-Bye appear on the display to power off the unit. 6. Press the MODE Toggle Switch in the stop playback mode, the sub-setting menu will appear on the display as below: Using the MODE Toggle Switch to set or reset as below: Locator folder Slide and release the MODE Toggle Switch to left or right to select the desired folder/songs then press the the MODE Toggle Switch to confirm your selection. The information of the selected file will appear on the screen. Press the Button to start playback. Deleted If Deleted is selected, press the MODE Toggle Switch to enter, " NO"will appear on the display. Slide and release the MODE Toggle Switch to left or right to select "YES"or "NO" then press the MODE Toggle Switch to confirm your selection. If YES is selected, press the MODE Toggle 10
12 Switch to delete the current song. If No is selected. Press the MODE Toggle Switch to exit. Repeat the same procedures until all the specific tracks were deleted. Delete all If "Delete all "is selected, press the MODE Toggle Switch to enter, "NO "will appear on the display. Slide and release the MODE Toggle Switch to left or right to select "YES"or "NO" then press the MODE Toggle Switch to confirm your selection. Exit Press the MODE Toggle Switch to return to previous menu. 7. During playback, press the MODE Toggle Switch, the sub-setting menu will appear on the display as below: Using the MODE Toggle Switch to set or reset as below: Repeat Normal Repeat One Folder Repeat Folder Repeat All Play all the tracks in the player one by one. Play the current track repeatedly. Play the tracks in the current folder one by one and then stop. Play the the tracks in the current folder repeatedly. Play the tracks in the unit repeatedly. 11
13 Random Playback the tracks in the current folder randomly. Intro Play the first 10 seconds of each tracks in the current folder. Equalizer Set the Equalizer modes to Natural ; Rock ; Pop ; Clas sic ; Soft ; Jazz or DBB as desired. Replay Press the MODE Button to enter, the display will resume to normal display and the Letter "A" of A-B replay indicator will blink. Slide the MODE toggle Switch to right to define the beginning of AB replay. Slide the switch again to define the end of AB replay then the unit will start playback the selected section repeatedly. To stop AB replay, press the MODE Toggle Switch. The unit will resume to normal playback. Exit Press the MODE toggle Switch to return to previous menu. Voice Recording 1. In main menu, slide the MODE Toggle Switch to left or right to select REC (Record) then press the MODE Toggle Switch to enter. Wait until the following picture appear on the display: 12
14 2. Press Button to start recording then speak into the Microphone at normal tone of voice. 3. During recording, press the Button to pause, press again to resume recording. 4. When finished, press and hold the Button until "SAVING..." appear on the display to save the recordings. Playback the voice recording files 1. In main menu, slide the MODE Toggle Switch to left or right to select RPL (Recording Playback) then press the MODE Toggle Switch to enter. The information of the 1st recording file will appear on the display. 2. Slide the MODE Toggle Switch to left or right to select the desired recording file then press the Button to start playback 3. Other operations are same as playback music files. 13
