2 INTRODUCTION Document & Print Services offers a wide range of cost effective print related solutions, products and services to the University. These include digital black and white and colour printing, large format printing and a range of finishing including binding and folding. Document & Print Services are located at Bankhead Workspace, Bankhead Terrace and are open (Monday to Thursday), (Friday). Should you find you require a service that may not be listed in this booklet or have any queries about any of our services, please call us on extension 2486/2340 or send an to Print Services. Please do not send any attachments for printing direct to any member of the Print Team, as it could be overlooked and we have a very effective alternative, outlined below. All our customers can now send their documents direct to Print Services over the network using PRISMA, our on-line software. Full details can be found under send documents electronically on our drop down menu or contact a member of the team for details on how to download and use PRISMA, ext. 2486/2340. We also offer a comprehensive service provision for our students, printing, binding, laminating, posters etc. Details are available in this booklet and also on the student portal. 4 PRINTED PRODUCTS These printed products can be ordered via Print Services mailbox or on-line using PRISMA This excludes all SITS letterheads Used when multiple copies of a written form are required, No Carbon Required, NCR, can provide an ideal solution. However, please note that NCR and other work that needs perforation will require extra finishing. This can be quite time consuming and will incur extra costs. Please contact the Print Services Staff to discuss your needs. Stock Card colours are: Pale Blue, Dark Blue, Pale Green, Red, Pale Yellow, Bright Yellow, Cream and Grey. 6 DIGITAL PHOTOCOPYING We provide Digital Photocopying, (or digital black and white printing as it is increasingly called), with three levels of service and based on guaranteed turnaround times. In general, the more notice given, the cheaper the service becomes. Economy Service Double sided copying not only helps the environment but saves you 0.5 pence per copy in paper compared to single sided copying. For example, compare these prices, 200 copies of a 20 page handout. 20 working days with no limit on number of copies and finishing. Economy Service, Double sided: Economy Service, Single sided: Standard Service, Double sided: Standard Service, Single sided: p per A4 copy including white 80 gsm paper. Standard Service 5-19 working days 2.5p per A4 copy including white 80 gsm paper. Express Service Express Service is unavailable in periods of peak demand 1 4 working days, Total number of copies x originals is limited to 5,000. Finishing, e.g. Plastic comb binding, is charged separately 4.9 pence per A4 copy including white 80 gsm paper. Finishing limited to corner or two edge staples ONLY. 6

7 FOLDING & BOOKLET MAKING We can make various types of leaflets on our folding machine, 1/3 A4: A3 to A4: A4 to A5: Z fold from A4, etc. Booklets can be produced from A3 to A4 and A4 to A5, with two centre staples on our booklet making machine. 8 STUDENT PRINTING We can print your dissertation in black & white or colour on 100gsm paper. your files to us at: We will check your file and then you back a price for the complete job including binding. We can now have your completed work delivered to a campus library of your choice, the library will take payment on collection or alternatively you can collect direct from Document & Print Services.
