1 KME Drama Club presents! It s time for another spring musical to get started at Kelly Mill, and we would love to have you be a part of it! Steps to audition Step 1: Fill out the online Lion King Auditioner Info form by November 5 th. The link is available on the KME Drama Club page on the Kelly Mill Website. Click on Academics and Special Areas to find it. Step 2: Detach and turn in your Teacher Recommendation Form to your homeroom teacher by November 5 th. Step 3: Detach and turn in your signed parent slip to Miss Tritt by November 5 th. Step 4: Prepare for your audition by learning 30 seconds of a musical theatre song. That can be any song from a musical (play). Auditions will be in the cafeteria and music room from 2:30-4:45 on 4 th grade: November 9 5 th grade: November 10 Bring a healthy snack and a water bottle to auditions. Wear close-toed shoes and clothes you can move in comfortably. BREAK A LEG!

2 Important Information for Auditioners and Parents Casting will be announced on the KME Drama Club webpage using the numbers students will receive at auditions. Any student who is not cast in the production will be invited to be a part of the Lion King tech crew! More information on tech crew will be coming in January. Acting Rehearsals will be on Mondays and Tuesdays from 2:30-4:00pm. Music rehearsals will be on either Thursday or Friday with Mr. Tomes. Rehearsals begin in January. One longer rehearsal will be held on Friday, March 11 from 11:50-4:45pm (early release day) at Kelly Mill. Dress rehearsals will be held at West Forsyth High School (where we will perform) on Friday, March 25 and Monday-Tuesday, March These rehearsals will be longer at TBA times. There will also be a Dance Saturday for this show. The Lion King has a lot of movement, and we will need time to work on it. This will be a mandatory rehearsal. This will most likely be in January. Date is TBA. Performances are March 30-31, 2015 at WFHS. Please note that the underlined dates are mandatory. Please do not audition for the show if you cannot be at any of those dates. Please do not contact the director for special permission to miss any of these dates. When producing a play of high quality, occasional extra rehearsals may need to be called. Parents will be given direct notice of any extra rehearsals, and those will be more flexible. Attendance at all rehearsals (music and acting) is required. Excused absences are those where prior notice (at least 24 hours) has been given to the director (Miss Tritt) or music director (Mr. Tomes- if for a music practice) by the parent/guardian of a family emergency or illness. Three unexcused absences may result in a removal from the cast.

3 Not all cast members will be called to every rehearsal. Parents and students must check the webpage weekly (under KME Drama Club) to find out who is called to rehearsal for the next week. Drama club fee is due Monday, December 7 th. KME Club fee is $50. This covers 1 tee shirt, 2 complimentary tickets, and production costs. There will be a cast meeting and a parent meeting on Monday, December 7 th. Cast meeting: 2:30-4:00 Parent meeting: 4:00-4:45
