1 Instructions for City of Dallas iphone/android Reporting Application mydallastx Upon opening App- Order s mydallastx a splash screen will temporarily appear and a small notification box may appear asking the user if they would like mydallastx to use their current location. By clicking okay the app will be able to use the GPS coordinates for the user s current location. On the first screen, a small Notice box will appear, If this is an emergency, please close this application and dial 911. Do not use this app while driving. The user may press Ok to open the app. The next screen allows the user to choose the issue to report.

2 Users will then take a photo of the issue they wish to report. They may touch the camera icon to automatically initiate the camera on their iphone to take a picture. On the Android phone, the user will select Take and then press the camera icon. Once the user takes a picture, a preview of the photo will appear on screen.

3 THIS NEXT PHOTO SHOWS THE PREVIEW SCREEN AND THE OPTION TO RETAKE OR USE Users can take up to four photos. Users will select Next (upper right corner) to move to next screen.

4 On the Helpful Notes screen, the user may choose whether they wish to leave an optional Text Note or an Audio Note in order to provide additional information that may be helpful to city staff in completing their request. Android users have the ability to convert talk to text by pressing the microphone on the keyboard. If the user made the choice to leave a Text Note a new screen will appear displaying the touch keypad. The user may touch type in any additional information or comments. After entering any additional info the user may press Next (upper right corner) to move to next screen.

5 If the user made the choice to leave an Audio Note a new screen will appear allowing the user to record, playback and review, or delete and re- record their message. After recording their message, the user may press Next (upper right corner) to move to next screen. On the next screen ( Set Location Screen) a map will appear pin- pointing the users approximate current location (based on their SmartPhone s GPS coordinates). If the pin- point needs to be adjusted slightly the user may drag and drop the pin- point to their precise location to edit the address or location. The user may also manually enter the address by pressing the address box and entering the location using the keyboard. Once the user is satisfied with address, they may select Next (upper right corner) to move to next input screen.

6 On the Reporter screen the user may make selections to choose to receive text notifications and to subscribe to program updates and city notifications. They are urged to enter their contact information so city officials may contact them if necessary about their App- Order request. The final screen allows the user to review the photo and information they have entered. If they are not satisfied with the information they may select Back (upper left) to move back through screens to change their entries. If they are satisfied with the information they may select Submit (upper right) to submit their information to city staff.

7 USER CAN SCROLL TO BOTTOM OF SCREEN Once the user has submitted the information, up to four notification boxes will appear to confirm their App- Order has been submitted. While loading, a custom audio Thank You message from the City will play.

8 The user may select Finished to exit mydallastx or they may select Another to enter another App- Order request. At any time during the use of mydallastx, the user may select the i symbol in the upper left corner of the screen to view more information. On the Android, the user can find the information page by pressing the menu key on the phone. The About mydallastx selection takes the user directly to these instructions. The About App- Order takes the user to the developer s website.
