2 Presentation of the meet After seven successful meets (2006, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014), the Neptune Club de France is hosting its eighth European Swim Meet on Saturday, May 16 & Sunday, May, at the Georges Vallerey swimming pool in Paris. The European Swim Meet is an official swimming competition wellknown in Europe. The meet provides a great atmosphere for coaches and swimmers to come together in a great environment. Certified by the French Swimming Federation, the European Meet is organized in partnership with the Regional Committee for Swimming (CIF), the Paris Departmental Committee (CD75), the City of Paris and the Ile-de-France Region. The competition is organized by the Neptune Club de France, which was founded in Affiliated with the French Swimming Federation, Neptune is one of the most prominent swim clubs in France. The Swim Meet will last two days and is open to all swimmers affiliated with a European federation recognized by the European Swimming League (LEN). Organized in a 50-metre pool, in heats/finals, with electronic timing and with breaks for warm-up and recovery, it allows swimmers to compete in the best conditions. 3 Facility The European Swim Meet is organized at the Georges Vallerey pool in Paris. The pool was built for the Olympic Games in 1924 and was completely renovated in It is equipped with a 50m x 21m pool and regularly hosts major swimming competitions: the FINA Swimming World Cup, National Championships, Regional Championships and numerous other meets. 4 Rules The competition is open to all swimmers affiliated with a European federation, recognized by the European Swimming League. The French Swimming Federation rules will apply. The competition will be held at the Georges Vallerey swimming pool, in the 50 meter-pool (50m, 8 corridors) with electronic timing. For the 50 and 100 meter events, the qualifying heat will take place in the morning and finals by age groups in the afternoon. The 200 meter events will be ranked by age groups. The 400 meter event and the relays will have a single ranking of all age groups. A skins final will be held for the 50 Freestyle. The 8 fastest swimmers after the heats, regardless of their age group, will participate in this final. This Skins Event will be a continuous competition commencing with 8 competitors and over a continuous series of races. The two slowest competitors will be eliminated in each round. In the final round, the latest two swimmers will compete to win the race. Races in each competition will take place at 3 minutes intervals from the start of the previous race. A warning signal will be given 10 seconds prior to the start of each round. The competition is certified by the French Federation of Swimming, all performances will be validated. Awards Medals will be awarded either to the first three swimmers in each final or by direct ranking, depending on the race. To receive medals, all swimmers will be required to present themselves to the podium, which will be located next to the computer room. Challenges In addition to the regular rankings, two challenges will be held : 1. A challenge based on the points scored in the 4 events (Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Freestyle) : a. 50m for the those born in or after 2002, b. 100m for those born in or before A challenge based on the points scored in the freestyle events (50/100/200).
