Find the Truth fr yur situatin. This week yu need t lk fr ways that Gd is tending the garden f yur heart by saking in His Wrd. S hw can we apply this t the garden f ur heart? Mst imprtantly we need t understand that in rder fr us t reap the righteusness f His blessings, we need t first plant His seed in the fertile sil f ur hearts. As we cultivated the sil f ur hearts with prayer, nw we need t plant His Wrd, the seed f Truth, in t that churned and fertilized humus rich with life-giving nutrients. There is nthing else that is needed ther than His Wrds planted in ur hearts, watered by His Hly Spirit, t bring abut the fruitfulness ut f barren places. Hebrews 4:12 tells us that the Wrd f Gd is pwerful, sharper than any tw-edged swrd, piercing even t the dividing asunder f the sul and spirit, jint and marrw.

3 What are yu believing that is nt true? Find His Truth t cnquer the lies that are stealing jy frm yur heart. Jhn 10:10 When we plant His Wrd in ur hearts, thrugh reading, meditating and speaking his Wrd ver ur lives and situatins faith rises up and takes hld. It isn t a magic frmula, t get what we want, but it des give strength ur spiritual muscles and fill us up with the living water and bread f life that we all need t be sustained. A few thughts n hw t plant the seed: 1. Read the Wrd f Gd. (ften) It is great if yu have time t spend time in 1 passage fr a length f time, just t digest what is being said. I can read a passage repeatedly and get smething new every time. 2. Cpy the Wrd int a Jurnal r ntebk. When we write the wrd f Gd we are helping urselves t emply multiple mdalities in learning. If yu dn t want t cpy the whle verse, cpy key wrds r phrases t help yu remember the cntext and main idea f the verse. 3. Meditate n the Wrd. I like t read mre than ne versin when I am really studying scripture. Smetimes I get ut my Strng s cncrdance and my dictinary t help me g even a little deeper. I usually have my jurnal nearby in rder t write dwn whatever I remember. 4. Cmmit it t memry. Simply said, the best thing we can d is put Gd s Wrd befre us s ften that it is what cmes ut f us. The Bible says, ut f the abundance f the heart, the muth speaks. I always say, I want His wrds t spill ut f me when I get bumped and it is true, because His wrd is alive and it is pwerful. When we see it, ( by reading it), write it ( as we cpy it), reasn it ( as we think abut it), and speak it ( as we say it) we are applying ur heart t the wisdm and pwer f the living Wrd which is strng enugh t divide bth sul and spirit. Pray the truth As yu spend time lking fr the areas that yu plant seeds f faith yu can begin swing them faithfully. When we sw int ur hearts, we begin t sing the prmises with ur sul. Thse barren places becme fertile grunds f prmise when we see them as seed-hlders.

4 This week I want t encurage yu t make prayer cards t help yu accmplish this task f praying in faith fr yurself and all thse in yur sphere f influence. Activity: Prayer Cards Prayer is such an intimate relatinship. It is the heart f ur cnnectin t the Father. E.M.Bunds said, Prayer is nt acting a part r ging thrugh religius mtins. Prayer is neither fficial nr frmal nr ceremnial, but direct, hearty, intense. The bject f asking is t receive. The aim f seeking is t find. The purpse f kncking is t aruse attentin and get in. Prayer acknwledges that Gd already knws everything and is waiting fr us t ask fr help. ( Margaret Feinburg, Wnderstruck) Prayer is t the Christian, what breath is t life. ~ RC Sprul. Abandn All, and yu will receive heaven. ~ Anthny Blm Cme t the thrne with an urgent desire t release it all. Lay ut the scarred heart that beats within yu. Open the clenched fist t receive what He has. Extend arms wide, (perhaps yu will have t physically change yur psture), t the One wh gave all fr yu. Imitate Christ s prayer life, t see yur wn begin. Prayer is a path that reveals Gd s glry and dispenses His blessings. Prayer is a place f reckless abandn. Cme t prayer, cme with bldness and leave everything in His capable hands. Prayer is a cnstant state f learning abut Gd s grace and His lve. The time we spend in prayer is just as much abut getting t persnally knw the heart f the Heavenly Father as it is abut petitining His hand f change in the daily living. Make Prayer Cards One f the best exercises I have learned t created prayer cards frm a bk by Paul Miller called, The Praying Life: Cnnecting with Gd in a Distracting Wrld. Aside frm being a very practical and enjyable read, this bk was s dwn-t-earth and humble that many times I fund myself stpping t just re-read what he had written ver and ver. One f the practices he taught in the bk was t create a prayer card, rather than a prayer list. He used the idea f a list that yu wuld use in the back f yur Bible, jurnal, r ntebk but instead he used made a prayer card. Make the cards persnal and specific

5 Each card can be specific t ne persn, (r whatever yu are praying fr) and yu can add t it each time yu need t pray fr them, mark dwn praise reprts, answers, etc. I use s many jurnals that ften I have my list in ne place r anther, and lse them r frget where I put them, but I realized that making prayer cards was an rganizatinal blessing fr me. Here are the steps: After yu have a nice prayer bx t put them in, get sme nte cards that fit in the bx. Write the persn s name n the tp f the card Write dwn the date and the issue yu are praying fr. Lk up scriptures that address this need and begin praying these fr this situatin. File the card in yur bx and as yu spend time praying fr yur family and friends, use the nte cards t remind yu t bring them t the Crss. My Prayer fr yu Heavenly Father, Gratefully we cme t yu knwing that yu are nt ne wh bases yur lve upn ur ability t perfrm. Yu have called us t yur heart ut f this hesed cvenant that yu are faithful t uphld. We are humbled at the way yu rchestrate ur lives t see yur grace and changed by the mercy yur hand bestws. Father, in that mercy, reveal t us the beauty f redemptin and a life restred t yu and t hpe. Fill ur hearts with seeds that prduce abundance in ur barren places and remind us f the cvering that yu have established ver us. Guide us t yur Wrd that we may glean frm it all the beauty that is there t harvest. Shw us hw t hide under the shadw f yur wings are ur prtectr and ur kinsman-redeemer. Surrund us with wmen f faith wh will speak hpe and life int ur circumstances, a cmmunity f like-minded believers wh lift us up and help us n this jurney. Surrund us with prtectrs wh will cntend fr us and lead us t fields f plenty. We are ever grateful fr each pprtunity t apprach the thrne f grace t receive mercy and well-timed help in ur time f need.
