5 In Praise of Libraries, The Rotarian, March 2015 The public library is the community s kindly grandmother: helpful, patient, understanding. Nobody in my town ever stands up and says he dislikes the public library. Nobody in your town does, either. The public library is an indispensable institution that somehow manages to get taken completely for granted.. Society pays little attention to it, even though society cannot survive without it. The library is the only place where people of all colors, creed, ages, and political beliefs freely, easily, and inadvertently intermingle. The public library is the only fully democratic institution I know of. When you go to the library, you see children, families, people of all age groups. It makes you feel that you are a part of a community. SMALL TOWNS CANNOT DO WITHOUT A PUBLIC LIBRARY. CANNOT, CANNOT, CANNOT. (public library) the most valuable institution a society could possibly imagine.

6 Our Patrons LOVE the Mary Jacobs Library! The staff are welcoming and it is a break from every day A good book is like a vacation and time spent looking at rows of books delightful! You make learning an adventure in fun. Nice, helpful, professionals and resources far as the mind can reach! its always busy for free. I get to be part of a community of all ages who love reading as I do! The heating system works this winter! "it's in my neighborhood and it has a lot to offer." because of the amazing Inter-library loan system. It is a great place to visit and spend quiet moments while accessing a vast array of information. But I especially love the people who work at the library.
