4 Additional Sponsorship Opportunities Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers In addition to the above sponsorship levels, listed below are other ways in which your company can support us. Project or Competition Specific IEEE at UCF hosts student led projects and participates in competitions every academic year. If your company would like to provide any mentorship, hardware, or software for a specific project please let us know. If your company provides project or competition specific sponsorship, your company would be showcased as the primary sponsor. This could include having your company s logo on all project or competition materials and media. Donating Hardware/Software for General Club Use Hardware and software are critical for the ongoing projects and activities that IEEE at UCF plans and runs during the year. If hardware and/or software is donated under this category, it could be used as a tutoring material to reinforce course material as well as test new ideas and learn new ways of completing projects. In our office we have an R&D area set aside that we hope to complete with your help. [Please see donation sheet for list of specific equipment.] Scholarships Our members contribute many hours of their time to help make our chapter successful. As we aim to keep this organization running at a high level, many students must sacrifice much to remain in engineering and perform at a high level. To aid in supporting members who put a great amount of time and effort into course work, projects, and competitions, we would like to ask for your support in funding a scholarship. The scholarship would be presented as YourCompanysName Scholarship and your organization will receive full credit for providing this. Qualifications can be customized to your liking in addition to having the ability to select recipient(s). Pegasus Package: Information Sessions, Technical Talks, Workshops and Seminars Corporate information sessions, technical talks, seminars, and similar meetings are cost effective solutions to reach out to the best and brightest engineering students, and to establish a presence on campus. IEEE at UCF specializes in coordinating such events often in conjunction with resume collections and other complementary activities and will work with you to deliver your target audience. Our average meeting attendance is approximately 60 students, with many companies drawing audiences of over 90 graduate and undergraduate students.

5 Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers SouthEastCon SouthEastCon takes place every year and it is the biggest conference we attend every year. This is IEEE Region 3 s technical, professional, and student conference. SouthEastCon gathers engineering and science professionals, academic professors, and students to share knowledge through exhibits and seminars. The next conference will take place in Norfolk, VA from March 30 th to April 3 rd. With over 60 universities attending from all over the southeast region these are some of our achievements in the past 10 years: SouthEastCon 2015, 1 st Place in Software Competition out of 50+ universities, having placed 1 st five prior times and have finished in the top three since SouthEastCon 2014 and 2010, Outstanding Student Branch being one of three universities chosen out of 60+ universities participating. SouthEastCon 2010, 1 st Place in Technical Student Paper out of 10+ university participants; We have placed 1 st twice and 2 nd once since SouthEastCon 2008, 3 rd Place in Hardware Competition out of 50+ universities and placed top 7 twice since SouthEastCon Competitions: Hardware Competition: Involves autonomous robots that are programmed to do certain tasks. This is a great opportunity to have your company s logo displayed. Software Competition: Teams consisting of up to three undergraduate students who will exercise their problem-solving abilities and programming skills to solve a set of given problems during the contest time period. Technical Paper: Student papers are judged based on written content and oral presentation. Ethics Competition: Teams consisting of up to three undergraduate students who submit a short analysis of how the IEEE Code of Ethics applies to a given situation. Web Design: Each student branch in IEEE Region-3 may enter their student built website to compete for top site. T-Shirt Design: Entries from student branches will all have the IEEE logo, school name, and/or IEEE SouthEastCon 2015 incorporated in the design. 6 Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Hardware Team IEEE Region 3 hosts a hardware competition every year during the SouthEastCon conference testing students in a multidisciplinary challenge. Students have to solve challenges from different fields, including electrical, mechanical and computer engineering. This is a great opportunity to collaborate and bring students together to beat this challenge that requires the team to build an autonomous, self-powered robot to complete a number of challenges within a given time limit. In the last ten years IEEE at UCF has placed within the top seven three times, including a third place finish. With your help, we could attain first!

7 Other Competitions Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers IEEEXtreme Programming Competition IEEEXtreme is a global challenge in which teams of IEEE student members, supported by an IEEE Student Branch, advised and proctored by an IEEE member, compete in a 24-hour sprint against each other to solve a set of programming problems. With over 1500 teams competing from all over the globe, one of the teams from IEEE at UCF placed 92 nd! IEEEXtreme will take place during the fall semester of the academic year in October. If your company would like to sponsor our teams at the event please feel free to contact us! During this event we provide meals, refreshments, and snacks to all participants as well as the proctors, so your assistance would be greatly appreciated. International Aerial Robotics Competition (IARC) The AUVSI IARC involves the development of sophisticated aerial robots attempting a neverbefore-achieved mission. The key to the competition mission is that these flying robots are fully autonomous thinking machines. There will be no humans controlling the robots. Teams strive to move the state of the art in aerial robotic behavior forward. IARC 2015 will involve herding robots and avoiding moving obstacles. Competition Locations will be in USA and China. IARC 2012, IEEE at UCF took the 3 rd place. [UCF s first participating year]

8 Community Outreach Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers IEEE at UCF strives to be in pair with IEEE s motto Advances Technology for Humanity, so we are actively looking for opportunities to volunteer for any causes, especially those affine with our sponsor partners, if your company has a cause they would like to support and you could use some help we would be glad to lend a helping hand. Some of the current or previous examples of this are mentioned below. Lockheed Martin Day of Caring 2014 IEEE at UCF members participated in Central Florida s largest company-led day of caring, where about 1,000 people, including IEEE at UCF members, revived Quest s Camp Thunderbird in Apopka, Florida. As part of the largest company-led United Way Day of Caring event in Central Florida, Lockheed Martin volunteers completed 92 projects, from renovating buildings to landscaping to improving wheelchair accessibility. IEEE at UCF came together with Lockheed Martin employees, family and friends to make a difference for Camp Thunderbird because we realize many of our neighbors rely on this important community resource. Give Kids the World: Mini-Golf Course Project IEEE at UCF, with help of the IEEE Orlando Section, unites with Give Kids the World Village to do their part in improving the lives of children. This non-profit organization exists only to fulfill the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses. We are currently in the process of revamping their mini golf course by designing a new sensor system using fiber optics. The system will be used to detect when the golf ball enters the cup.

9 Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Student Outreach at UCF Student Leadership Training Every year, during the fall semester, a training session is held by the IEEE regional student activities leadership for the purpose of providing a more personalized interaction between the region leadership and the student branch officers than can be provided at the region wide leadership training. The training provides student branch officers and potential officers with the ability to have their plan of events to be reviewed by region leadership and the ability to interact and connect with officers from other local student chapters Engineers Week (E-Week) During E-Week at the University of Central Florida a series of events in the College of Engineering and Computer Science are held to celebrate engineering. This week features keynote speakers, competitions, and workshops. IEEE hosts a multi-sports competition every E-Week. We are always looking for sponsors to host workshops, send guest speakers and help oversee competitions! It s a great way to gain exposure to students and see how they perform in a team building environment. General Body Meetings General Body Meetings (GBM) are usually held twice a month to provide our members with general information regarding upcoming events and projects. The main point of the GBM is to create an environment in which students can interact, allowing them to share feedback or suggestions regarding the section s projects and activities. It serves as a platform for IEEE officers and project leads to share information with students about upcoming opportunities and events.
