1 GUIDELINES FOR THE PROJECT WORK (FOR O.C.M, S.P., ECO, B.K.) Format of the Project Project Presentation 1) Introduction Introduction to be written with the reference to the subject (Topic) of the project. 2) Aims and Objectives Aims and objectives should be started as To know To understand.. To get detailed information 3) Needs and Importance Needs and importance should start as To acquire knowledge To compare To study.. To find out 4) Data and Information and its analysis Presentation of data and information includes Charts Pictures Diagrams Graphs etc. 5) Conclusion 6) Opinions and suggestions should be based on overall study. Important Note: 1) Project should have minimum 10 pages and it should be handwritten. 2) Each student is free to select any one topic for the project from the given list of topics. 3) It should be an individual activity. 4) The project should be compiled and presented in a separate project book. 5) All the students are informed to submit their project on Saturday, 29 th November, 2013 in their respective divisions. 6) No projects will be accepted after the above mentioned date. 7) It should be certified by their subject teacher. 8) Project topics are also available on the college website i.e.www.nirmala.edu.in 9) For any further information, student may contact their subject incharge. 10) Sample project are available on the 3 rd Floor Library from 16 th September, 2013.

2 Subject: Economics 1. Collect, comprise and analyse the recent data obtained from newspaper related to credit control measures announced by the reserve bank of India. 2. Visit the branch of any commercial bank and write a report on various functions performed by bank. 3. Find out the changes in size and pattern of contribution of primary sector, secondary sector and tertiary sector to National Income of India. 4. Make a report on Development of E- Banking in recent years. 5. Study of merits and demerits of various types of money based on experience of people. 6. Visit vegetable market in your nearby area and collect the data regarding the changes in demand and supply of selected vegetables and study price fluctuation in them over a period of month. 7. Study the responsiveness of demand for commodities like food-grains, washing machines, pins, medicines salt with respect to income level of five families. 8. Prepare a family budget of low income groups and high income group for a month and make a comparative study of it. 9. Prepare a list of Macro-economic problems of Indian economy and comment on them in brief. 10. Meet the following business- man, and note problems, risk which may arise in business. a) Taxi or auto rickshaw driver b) Farmer c) Owner of retail grocery shop. d) Dairy farming.

3 Subject: Book-keeping and Accountancy 1. Partnership Final Accounts. 2. Ratio analysis. 3. A report on procedure of registration of partnership firm under Partnership Act, Analytical study on various adjustments in final accounts of partnership firm. 5. Comparative study of Profit organisations and Not for Profit organisations and analysis of adjustments in final accounts of Not for profit concern / organisation. 6. Preparation of report on various treatments of bill of exchange (trade bill). 7. A report on the procedure of purchasing and selling of shares through DEMAT account. 8. Study of the methods of valuation of goodwill and accounting treatment in case of Admission, Retirement or Death of a partner. 9. A report on procedure of winding up of partnership firm. 10. Study of revenue and capital receipts, revenue and capital expenditure of any five Non Profit association.

4 Subject: Secretarial Practice 1. Information report of public deposits invited by any company. 2. Report about dividend policy of any company. 3. Specimen presentation of letters issued by company. 4. Collection of News articles about share market. 5. Specimen presentation of investment instruments issued by company. 6. Visit report to financial institution with special reference to ICICI. 7. Functional report of SEBI. 8. Functional report of stock exchange. 9. Information report on bonus issue of a company. 10. Report on different kinds of loan provided by commercial bank to joint stock company.

5 Subject: Organisation of Commerce and Management 1. Prepare report on E- business. 2. Prepare report of role of media against business malpractices. 3. Prepare report on modern modes of communication. 4. Prepare a report on E-banking facilities of any one commercial bank. Eg. SBI, BOB, PNB etc. 5. Comparative study of public sector banks and private sector banks in India. 6. Bad effects of various festivals on the environment. 7. Prepare a report on websites conducting online trading eg. Flipcart.com, yebhi.com, OLX.com. 8. Prepare a report on visit to co operative store. 9. Detailed information of any Indian Entrepreneur.(Eg. Ratan Tata, Aditya Birla etc). 10. A detailed report on Metro train to be launched in Mumbai.

(Chapter No.3) 6) Role of Advertisement in reducing tobacco Consumption & Smoking (Chapter No.5) 7) Use of efficient appliances to reduce electricity consumption. (Chapter No.2) 8) Green Surrounding and Human Well Being (Chapter No.2) 9) Increase in extinction of species. (Chapter No.1) 10) Biodiversity Management (Chapter No.5) Important Points to be noted regarding EVS project:- 1. Completion of EVS project (30 marks) and Journal/ Seminar (20 marks) is compulsory 2. EVS subject carries total of 50 marks which will be calculated in your total aggregate marks in H.S.C. Board examination. 3. The student has to prepare the EVS project in 08 pages with the guidelines given, Thereafter, the student will prepare a report on the basis of project made of 04 pages which will be sent to Board office. 4. The report must be of 4 pages of approximately 1000 words in given format. 5. The project and the report must be prepared on A4 size paper and it must be handwritten. 6. The first 02 lines of the report must clearly mention the following Line 1: Class: Div: Roll No: Line 2: Stream: Seat No: (It may be noted that Seat No. will be mentioned only after the Hall Ticket is received from the Board and hence needs to be kept blank) 7. The Project must be ready by September end and the Report must be completed and kept ready for submission by the end of November, For any further details, the students may contact their EVS incharge for the same. Note :- Sample Project would be made available in the college Library and college website from 16 th September, Seminar/ Journal Topics along with instruction would be displayed on college notice board from 10 th September, 2013.
