Section A - Installing drivers using Find New Hardware Windows function. page 2 Section B - Start installation program from the web site. page 5 Section C - Start installation program from the Installation CD. page 7 Section D - Drivers installation or update. page 8 Important Please read before installation Note1: Dealer4 uses USBXpress device from Silicon Laboratories for USB communication. The drivers and installation tools are supplied by Silicon Laboratories. Therefore during installation process and later during normal use of the Dealer4 for some messages and identifications will referring to the USBXpress or Silicon Labs not only to Dealer4. It is normal. Note 2: Driver installation requires Administrator access. Please refer to your IT support staff for more information. To override it please select Run As Administrator when start installation software. Note 3: Installing driver using Find New Hardware wizard will not install driver uninstaller. So driver uninstalling will be not possible. If uninstalling driver will be required using method described in Section B or C is recommended. 2 Section A Installing driver using Find New Hardware Windows wizard. This method can be only use when no driver was installed before. Installation disk is also required. 1. Connect Dealer4 USB cable to the PC with Installation CD in the CD-ROM driver inserted. Computer should automatically recognize new hardware attached: Be sure that Installation CD is in the CD-ROM drive Select Locate and install driver software The following bubble will appear in the bottom right corner of your screen Click on this bubble. NOTE: this step may take a while because Windows Vista will first searching Windows Update for drivers. 2

3 After searching windows update the wizard will ask for the Dealer4 setup CD. Insert it now if you haven t already. Click Next The wizard will look for the driver and copy required files: 3

4 When installation is finished following window appear click Close 4

5 Section B Start installation file from the web site. To update USB drivers from the Dealer4 web site please do: To update USB drivers from the Dealer4 web site it is required to do following steps: 1. Go to 2. Go to 3. Click on Software Updates 4. Find frame: 5. Click DOWNLOAD Following window will appear: Click Save File. When file download finished on the security warning appear click Run or find where the file was downloaded and run it manually. WinZip Self-Extractor starts. It will extract driver files in the default directory C:\dealer4_install. Click Unzip. When files unzipped successfully following message appears: 5

6 Click OK and the close WinZip Self-Extractor by click on Close. 5. Navigate to the C:\dealer4_install directory and run USBXpressInstaller.exe application. For further instruction jump to section D 6

7 Section C Start installation program from the Installation CD. 1. Open the supplied installation CD by going to My Computer CD drive and right click open go to the USB drivers folder and run the USBXpressInstaller.exe application For further instruction jump to section D. 7

8 Section D Drivers installation or update. 1. When installation software start following window appear. Click install The following window will appear. This step can takes few minutes so be patience. Click OK Dealer4 USB drivers are installed and are ready to use. 8

9 If you receive the following message your USB drivers are up to date and no further action is required. If you receive the following message your USB drivers are old and the installation program will remove these before installing the new ones. Click Yes. 9
