1 The Yale Family In 1908 Rodney Horace Yale published The Yales And Wales, which contains information on the Yale Family back to approximately the year 850. His grandson, Donald Rodney Yale, published the second edition of The Yales And Wales sometime after There is a great deal of biographical text regarding the earlier ancestors of the Yales in the book published by The Yale Family: it is not my intention to copy that information into this chapter of Many Branches Of A Family Tree. First Generation 1. John 1 Yale, son of David Lloyd Ap Ellis and Gwenwhyfar Lloyd, birth date unknown. He married twice. He married Elizabeth Mostyn. Elizabeth is the daughter of Thomas Mostyn. He married Agnes Lloyd. Agnes is the daughter of John Lloyd. John Yale and Agnes Lloyd had the following child: *2 i. David 2 Yale. John Yale and Elizabeth Mostyn had the following children: 3 ii. Thomas Yale. 4 iii. Jane Yale. She married Joseph Haynes. Second Generation 2. David 2 Yale (John 1 ) birth date unknown. David died He married Frances Lloyd. Thomas 4 Yale (Thomas 3, David 2, John 1 ) was born in Chester, England Thomas died March 27, 1683 in New Haven, New Haven, Connecticut, at 66 years of age. He married Mary Turner Mary was the daughter of Captain Nathaniel Turner. Mary died October 15, Thomas Yale and Mary Turner had the following children: 23 i. John 5 Yale was born in New Haven, New Haven, Connecticut about John died December 16, 1711 in New Haven, New Haven, Connecticut, at 65 years of age. His body was interred in New Haven, New Haven, Connecticut. He married Rebecca. Rebecca died October 17, *24 ii. Thomas Yale was born about iii. Mary Yale was born in New Haven, New Haven, Connecticut October 26, Mary died 1704 in New Haven, New Haven, Connecticut, at 53 years of age. Martha Yale was born May 6, Martha died January 15, 1670 at 14 years of age. 28 vi. Abigail Yale was born May 5, vii. Hannah Yale was born July 6, She married Enos Talmage May 9, viii. Elizabeth Yale was born January 29, Elizabeth died September 19, 1701 at 34 years of age. She married Joseph Pardee July 30, 1688.

He married three times. He married Rebecca Gibbards December 11, Rebecca was born in New Haven, New Haven, Connecticut February 26, He married Sarah Nash about Sarah was the daughter of John Nash. Sarah died May 27, He married Mary Beach July 31, Thomas Yale and Rebecca Gibbards had the following children: 31 i. Hannah 6 Yale was born July 27, ii. Rebecca Yale was born October 2, iii. Elizabeth Yale was born July 25, *34 iv. Theophilus Yale was born November 13, v. Thomas Yale was born March 20, He married Mary Benham. Mary was the daughter of Joseph Benham. Mary died August 18, vi. Nathaniel Yale was born July 12, Nathaniel died December 11, 1711 at 30 years of age. He married Anna Peck. Anna was born Anna was the daughter of John Peck. Anna died February 16, 1716 at 31 years of age. Sixth Generation 34. Theophilus 6 Yale (Thomas 5, Thomas 4, Thomas 3, David 2, John 1 ) was born November 13, Theophilus died September 13, 1760 at 84 years of age. He married Sarah Street. Sarah was born about Sarah was the daughter of Reverend Samuel Street and Anna. Sarah died November 28, 1784 in Wallingford, Connecticut, at 94 years of age. Theophilus Yale and Sarah Street had the following children: *37 i. Elihu 7 Yale was born May 25, ii. Ann Yale was born April 23, She married William Carter May 8, iii. Samuel Yale was born January 28, Samuel died October 6, 1754 at 43 years of age. He married Susannah Abernethy March 11, Susannah was the daughter of William Abernethy and Mary. Susannah died May 30, iv. Theophilus Yale was born April 10, Theophilus died January 28, 1759 at 44 years of age. He married Azubah Dewolf July 27, Azubah died v. Sarah Yale was born December 26, Sarah died July 13, 1784 at 67 years of age. She married Captain Joshua Atwater September 4, Joshua died November 29, 1757.
