After relating life s greatest challenges, adults will name ways to face them and encourage one another with Paul s hope. Guided by Paul s reflection on Christ s humility, adults will describe ways to practice and commit to living with humility. Challenged by Jesus parable about religious authorities rejecting God s will, adults will inspect times they reject God. Exhorted by Paul and confronted by seemingly ordinary lives, adults will find significance in steadfast faithfulness. Prompted by Jesus words, adults will name current civil issues about which Christians disagree, and plan ways to address conflict. Grounded in the greatest commandment, adults will commit to living faithfully amidst big questions. Inspired by Joshua s faithful leadership, adults will hear contemporary stories of faith and contemplate their own faithful witness. Guided by a kingdom parable, adults will demonstrate ways they recognize and celebrate Jesus empowering presence today. Invited by Jesus parable of the talents, adults will determine ways to offer their talents in discipleship.
2 and Text Session 12 Nov. 23, 2014 Matthew 25:31 46 Session 13 Nov. 30, 2014 Isaiah 64:1 9 Prompted to see Jesus in faces of need, adults will define ways to show love to the weak and vulnerable. As Mary decided to accept God s will for her life, adults will reflect on God s will for them. Seeing how a community of faith raised Jesus, adults will commit to raising those in their faith community. Beholding the incarnate God, adults will ponder how Jesus living among them has shaped their lives. Adults will compare their baptism with Jesus baptism, as described in Mark 1, and articulate its significance in their lives. While seeking to understand Samuel's call, adults will wrestle with God's call in their lives. Hearing Jesus' call to follow him, adults will visualize and describe what it means to follow Jesus today. As Jesus confronted the unclean spirit in Mark 1, adults will examine ways in which they confront evil daily. Adults will see how Jesus connected healing and the proclamation of the Word, and envision how to connect them today. Observing God s command, at the transfiguration, that the disciples listen to Jesus, adults will consider how they listen to Jesus.
