3 Quality The University of Pécs was founded in 1367; it is a prestigious university with an exceptionally wide experience and tradition in higher education. The university has been running degree programs in English for more than 30 years and so has become one of the most internationalized universities in Hungary. All our courses are professionally relevant and of high quality. All the courses are accredited by the Ministry of Education. One course represents between 1-9 ECTS credits per semester. Program applicants are advised to discuss credit transfer with their home institutions. The University of Pécs is happy to provide all the necessary documents and assistance for it.

4 Tuition Fee The tuition fees of the Study Abroad programs range from 80 USD to 130 USD/ECTS credit per semester depending on the chosen area of study. Location Pécs is a very safe place to study and live. It is the fifth largest city in Hungary with a population of about 150,000. Pécs lies in South Transdanubia, close to the border with Croatia. It has a mild, Mediterranean-like climate. Its history goes back over 2,000 years to the Roman times. Beautiful Pécs is a culturally diverse and stimulating university city. It is full of bars, restaurants and cafés; it has an incredibly vibrant student life day and night. Student Life Pécs has received the prestigious title 'European Capital of Culture' for the year The city offers a large variety of cultural activities such as concerts, art exhibitions, theatre performances, and dance shows. A highly bustling university life is guaranteed. The Student Union organizes regular dance parties and special events such as the Freshmen Camp, the Freshmen's Ball, University Days, International Evening, Carneval and excursions to wine cellars and touristic spots. We also offer a wide range of sporting opportunities as well as an International Student Support program. Accommodation Incoming Study Abroad students are offered a placement in dormitories where they live in a multicultural environment, together with other international and Hungarian students. The dormitories have recently been refurbished; they serve all the requirements of the students on a very high level.

5 How to get to Pécs? The easiest way of reaching Hungary is travelling by plane. There are flights from all over the world to Budapest, the capital of Hungary. To reach Pécs from the capital, which is 200 km to the south, one can take an intercity train or airport shuttle. From the fall of 2016 Pécs Airport will also be accessible by plane from Munich, Germany. ń ń

7 Hungary exhibits a rich culture with an amazing collection of Mediterranean and European influences Beautiful campus, great accommodations in the dorms, and extremely helpful and motivated staff. You feel as though Pécs is your home from the moment you arrive and makes it hard to leave. There seems to be a cultural explosion going on in Pécs. There are always great festivals and museum expos. I think Hungary is a great choice for foreigners because of its incredibly unique culture. The language and cuisine are so different and both are fun to try. Their money is cute!... The buildings are amazing!... The baths are relaxing and a good group activity!... Don't forget your camera!
