9 ÖNORM EN ISO How we cope with Formal explanation + FOREWORD national add-on The text of ISO 11074:20?? has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 190 Soil quality of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has been taken over as EN ISO 11074:20?? by Technical Committee CEN/TC 345 Characterization of soils the secretariat of which is held by NEN. This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by June 2015, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by June By the Technical Committee ISO/TC 190 Soil quality a total of 151 international standards have been established. Through the Technical Committee CEN/TC 345 Characterization of soils 50 standards have been taken over as European standards. EN ISO Soil quality Vocabulary goes beyond these series of standards and is the complete collection of terms and definitions of any ISO standard published by ISO/TC 190. Therefore it is noted, that legislative frameworks of the European Union and other environmental policy documents, national legislation in Austria and/or other Member States within the European Union and national standards on the topics hydrology, construction and waste management (herewith included contaminated sites) may recognise other terms and/or differing definitions. Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent rights. CEN [and/or CENELEC] shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights. According to the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of the following countries are bound to implement this European Standard: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. 9
