1 Specification for "Super Lamp"-designated Lamps Aug Introduction This document specifies the minimum performance requirements that lighting products need to meet in order to qualify for the "Super Lamp" designation. The scope of this specification encompasses medium-screw base (E26) covered dimming lamps of the following nominal shapes (see Appendix A for dimensions that vary from the ANSI standard shapes): A19, R30, PAR38 and G30. While references are made in this specification to Energy Star for CFLs and Energy Star for SSL Integral Lamps, technologies other than CFL and SSL that meet the technical criteria can qualify for the Super Lamp designation. Prerequisites Compact fluorescent lamps Lamps must perform according to what is specified in Energy Star Program Requirements and Criteria for CFLs Version 4.0 (Final Version, March 7 th, 2008) 1. Integral LED lamps Lamps must perform according to what is specified in Energy Star Program Requirements for Integral LED Lamps (Draft 2, May 19 th, 2009) accessed May 19, accessed Jun 10, 2009.

Chromaticity point must lie within 7- step MacAdam ellipse centered on the ANSI color point for the color temperature of 2700 K. In particular, they must comply with the following: Initial elevated temperature light output ratio Elevated temperature 1,000-hour lumen maintenance Elevated temperature lumen maintenance at Maximum ambient temperature rating Elevated temperature interim test Elevated temperature testing (final qualification) In addition to other time tests required for qualification, rated must be met when testing is performed on an electronic switch that runs a trickle current through lamp when in the off state. When operated on a switch that runs a trickle current in its off state, lamp must not turn on when switch is off.
