2 CARE AND MAINTENANCE READ THIS DOCUMENT BEFORE YOU BEGIN Thank you for purchasing this garden dump cart. When properly assembled and maintained, this product will provide years of reliable service. These instructions include helpful hints and important information needed to safely assemble and properly maintain the cart. Please read these instructions before you begin. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS Do not load your cart with more than 440 pounds. Do not use the tipping/dumping feature of the garden dump cart with more than a 220 pound payload. This cart is not a toy. Do not allow children to use the cart. Never allow riders in the cart tub. Do not use on inclines; cart may tip or roll away. Always distribute payload evenly over the surface of the tub. Inflate the tires to the proper level as indicated on the tires. Inflate the tires with air only. Never use a flammable gas to inflate the tires. Do not use the cart if any part is broken or damaged. Always replace missing or broken parts immediately. Never stand on or in the cart. Do not load any items on the top edges of the plastic tub. Never attach this garden dump cart to or pull it with a lawn tractor or other motorized vehicle. It is not designed for road use. Periodically check fasteners to make sure they are in place and tight. Clean the cart using water and mild soap. Rinse with water sprayed from a garden hose. (Tip the tub to allow the water to drain out after washing.) Check the tire pressure and adjust to recommended pressure if needed. Check load rating. Lubricate the steering linkage with a light-weight oil if needed. Slightly loosen mounting bolts as needed if steering is too stiff. THE THREADS OF THE SHOULDER BOLTS MUST REMAIN WITHIN THE LOCKING COLLAR OF THE LOCKNUTS. DO NOT LOOSEN THE BOLTS TOO MUCH. DOING SO WILL CAUSE EXCESS PLAY IN THE FRONT AXLE JOINTS. REQUIRED TOOLS The following list identifies the main tools needed for assembly. Two (2) people are recommended to assemble the cart. Screwdrivers (straight and Phillips) and pliers (adjustable or needle nose) Metric and standard wrenches and/or a socket and ratchet set UNPACK AND IDENTIFY PARTS The following steps will help ensure that you have all the necessary parts before you begin to assemble Unpack the contents of the shipment and place where you can easily inventory the parts. Compare the shipped parts with those shown at the bottom of each page of these instructions. If anything is missing or you have questions, contact customer service. 2

3 1 ATTACH FRONT AXLE AND AXLE BRACE TO FRAME STEP 1: Position frame on a flat surface and place steering axle assembly on the frame. STEP 2: Insert the flat head fasteners up through the mounting holes. Do not use the round head fasteners for this connection. STEP 3: Install washer and locknut and secure axle to the frame using a wrench (or ratchet and socket) and screwdriver. Axle Brace Frame STEP 4: Slide angled front axle brace into place. Position the angled end on top of the frame and under the axle brace. STEP 5: Insert two (2) round head bolts up through the mounting holes. STEP 6: Add the washers and locknuts. Do not fully tighten nuts at this time. 4 2 ATTACH STEERING YOKE Brace STEP 1: Remove the washer and cotter pin from the front axle mounting stud. Press angled front axle brace (installed in Procedure 1) down and away from axle. STEP 2: Squeeze yoke ends together and slide ends between straight and angled axle braces. STEP 3: Align mounting hole with the mounting stud and release yoke, allowing it to snap into place over the mounting stud. STEP 4: Install washer and cotter pin. Bend cotter pin. Use pliers if needed. STEP 5: Take the shoulder bolt, insert it up through the mounting hole, and add the flat washer and locknut. Verify that the shoulder is through all frame members and tighten the bolt until the bolt threads extend through the locking material of the nut. Check operation. Yoke should move freely. ATTENTION: Use the long shoulder bolt with the longest shoulder. There is only one bolt with a long shoulder. There are three (3) bolts with short shoulders. Wrenches 1/4" x 1" (M6x22) Long Shoulder Bolt (1) Long Shoulder Steering Yoke Pliers 1/4" (M6) Washer (1) 1/4" (M6) Locknut (1) Install mounting stud through this hole. 4

5 3 ATTACH TIE BAR TO THE ASSEMBLED FRONT AXLE Yoke STEP 1: Take the tie bar (see below) and place it on top of the yoke as shown. Ends will be under the tie rod ends of the axle. STEP 2: Insert one of the three remaining shoulder bolts up through the yoke and center hole in the tie bar. STEP 3: Verify that the shoulder is through the yoke and tie bar and add the washer and nut. STEP 4: Insert another shoulder bolt up through each of the outer mounting holes as shown. STEP 5: Tighten all three shoulder bolts as previously described. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN. DOING SO MAY STRIP THE BOLT OR NUT THREADS. Tighten until snug. STEP 7: Return to the angled front axle brace mounting bolts (see Procedure 1) and tighten these if this has not been completed. STEP 6: Work the steering yoke side-toside. Yoke should move freely to easily turn the cart when cart is fully assembled. Slightly loosen bolts if needed to improve steering. 6 4 ATTACH TUB LATCH AND REAR AXLE COMPONENTS STEP 1: Position tub on a flat surface. Insert pan head bolt from the inside and place latch assembly over bolt. Add washer and locknut. Align the remaining holes and repeat to install the three (3) remaining bolts. STEP 2: Hold the bolt heads with a screwdriver and slightly tighten nuts. Do not fully tighten at this time. Allow latch to remain loose so it can be adjusted after installing the front axle and frame assembly. STEP 3: Place the rear axle on the tub. Insert two pan head bolts up through the tub, install washers and nuts, and slightly tighten. Do not fully tighten until completing the Step 5. STEP 4: Remove wheel nuts and washers from axle ends, slide rear axle braces onto axle, align holes, and insert a pan head bolt up through the tub. Add washer and nut. Repeat to install the remaining bolts. STEP 5: Verify that the axle assembly is square on the tub and tighten all mounting bolts using a screwdriver to hold the bolts and a wrench (or socket and ratchet) to tighten the nuts. To prevent damage to the bolts and nuts, do not overtighten. Bolts should be snug. 7 5 ATTACH FRONT AXLE AND FRAME TO TUB STEP 1: Carefully place front axle and frame assembly onto tub. Press and release latch once frame assembly is seated on tub to align assembly and latch. Loosen latch mounting bolts if needed to allow latch to slide. Jaws should evenly grip frame bar. STEP 2: Align the mounting hole in the frame with the hole in the tub. Carefully insert a pan head bolt through the holes from inside the tub. STEP 3: Add the washer and locknut and repeat to secure the other side of the front axle and frame assembly to the tub. Lift frame. STEP 4: Tighten both frame mounting bolts. Tighten nut until snug, then back the nut off 1/4 to 1/2 turn. Tub must be allowed to pivot on the bolts to properly dump contents. STEP 5: Verify that the latch jaws grip the frame bar evenly and then tighten the four latch mounting bolts. Press latch. STEP 6: Test the latch and frame by depressing the latch to release the frame and carefully lift the frame. Release the latch and allow the frame to snap into the locked position. Check latch to verify it has tightly locked the frame to the tub. Adjust latch if needed. 8 6 INSTALL WHEELS AND TUB HANDLE STEP 1: Remove wheel locknut and washer from axle and slide wheel onto axle. STEP 2: Ensure valve stem is to the outside and add washer and locknut. STEP 3: Tighten locknut. Repeat these steps for the remaining wheels. STEP 4: Determine the desired handle orientation, slide coupler onto end of the handle, and align bolt holes. STEP 5: Insert the long hex head bolt through the yoke, coupler, and handle mounting holes. STEP 6: Add the washer and locknut. STEP 7: Tighten the nut until snug and then back nut off 1/4 to 1/2 turn to allow handle to move freely at the joint. *Axle locknuts and flat washers are typically shipped from the factory attached to the front and rear axles. 9 7 TEST CART DUMPING OPERATION STEP 1: Press latch to release tub. STEP 2: Carefully lift tub to dump contents. Do not stand behind tub when dumping. Axles will track toward each other as tub is lifted. STEP 3: Lower tub and lock in place using latch. Verify that the latch jaw locks around the frame bar to prevent unwanted dumping of the tub contents when moving or while loading. Fully Assembled Garden Dump Cart 9
