2 New features released in V2.90 More information on the new features/functionality released in version 2.90 is provided below. Audio functionality The new version of also supports audio recording and playback. Up to 64 audio channels are supported for recording; audio playback is possible via one out of four audio channels (selectable) of the PC's audio interface. Audio recording is possible for up to 64 (e.g. for foyer or room surveillance). In search mode, audio can be played back via one out of four audio channels (selectable). Direct streaming of IP As of version 2.90, IP can be streamed directly via SISTORE RemoteView. This reduces the load of the SISTORE MX NVS server, resulting in higher server performance. The server can concentrate on storing video data in MJPEG format. On the RemoteView client, live images are displayed with a higher frame rate; this facilitates the observation of sceneries (e.g. shops, passageways and car parks, underground, railway and tram platforms, as well as airport terminals and harbour facilities). Live video data is currently transmitted in MPEG4. Support of larger HDDs / database optimization 2.90 now supports larger HDDs, thus enabling capacities of up to 16 TB in conjunction with NAS systems. Higher recording capacities make it easier for the users to meet statutory regulations regarding the long-term storage of video data. The database optimization enables accelerated storage operations and the storage and management of larger data volumes, resulting in a higher utilization of the user's storage media. 5 Product description of V2.90: is an open IP software for recording and visualization of network. The software is typically installed on standard IT hardware components, PCs or servers. This means that the performance of the system depends mainly on the underlying hardware. Standardized network protocols, like TCP/IP, allow communication between the different components. This also allows the integration into existing IT and network infrastructure. Network of almost 20 different camera manufacturers are supported as standard, including Siemens, Sony, Panasonic, Axis or Mobotix. For dedicated models, PTZ control is also supported. The VSS-SDK interface enables integration into higher-level management systems. MX NVS is already integrated into Video Management IVM, Danger Management System MM8000, Access Control systems SiPass Integrated and SiPass Entro. MX NVS offers an easy and intuitive installation and operation of the video surveillance system: The system is ready for operation after installation of the software and configuration of the IP. When developing the focus was on simple, clear controls and functional reliability. There are various options for recording the IP streams from network, either locally on the NVS, or distributed in the network on so-called Network Attached Storage (NAS). NAS systems are dedicated storage systems in the network which also offer high availability option like RAID systems. The integrated motion detection saves hard disk space by only recording when something happens in the scene, whereas the integrated sabotage alarm function enhances the security level of the video surveillance system. consists of a client-server architecture, which allows design of scalable video surveillance systems, from small stand-alone systems to large systems. Clients and servers are distributed in the network. Each server supports the recording and management of up to 64 per server. The server is also responsible for additional functionalities such as motion detection or sabotage detection. The client, which is also called RemoteView, is a software installed on a separate PC for configuration and operation of the video surveillance system over the network. Up to 16 RemoteView clients can access each NVS server. Each RemoteView client can display the images from up to 10 simultaneously. NVS supports network from Siemens and other companies as well as analogue which are connected to a supported network video server. can optionally be equipped with USB input and output modules which extend the functionality to include alarm inputs and outputs. The input modules may trigger the recording of video or adjust the frame rate of the recording. The alarm outputs are designed to connect to alarm systems or turn on lights. In order to ease the operation of the system, a jog shuttle or a remote keyboard can be connected. With the jog shuttle and the remote keyboard, it is possible to control playback, like fast forward or rewind, or zoom the timeline. Furthermore, PTZ can be controlled. While the is very flexible Software, there are some limitations which should be considered when planning a system. These include: Maximum Hard disk capacity per Server is 5 TB (Event recording) or 16 TB (Time-lapse/long term recording). This is due to the maximum possible databank size, which depends on the number of entries. Event recording generates more entries, particularly when lots of short events occur. Multicore-processors are supported however Multi-processor systems are not supported at this time. Microsoft Server systems with 64Bit operating systems are not supported at this time. Please be aware of these limitations when making any system designs/calculations. These limitations, along with Project Calculation Sheets and information on IP Cameras performance may be found in the PSP. 6 Interoperability matrix Interoperability and system integration is a key focus to provide integrated security solutions. In combination with IVM (Interactive Video Management), enables the user to control the entire video surveillance system composing of both analogue and digital components. This includes the generation of site plans or system configuration, displaying on video walls, and the selection and control of individual video components. Integrating complete alarm handling, IVM software can extensively display, evaluate and document events and alarms. Upon receiving an alarm, dedicated monitors allow the user to track the development of the situation, while simultaneously the sequences are recorded and documented. The recorded images and event data can then be easily replayed and analysed via the IVM Client anywhere on the system network. V2.90 includes and supports the VSS-SDK as well as the VSS-SDK 2.5 interface.
