COOLING SPACE TEMPERATURE Air flow is at minimum or shut off when room temperature is below setpoint. On a rise in room temperature the air flow increases to maximum, within the throttling range. 2.) AUTO CHANGEOVER The changeover module initiates changeover by sensing supply duct air temperature, and programs the controller to automatically operate in the appropriate mode. The changeover occurs at fixed, non-adjustable factory settings, 77 F.±4 F. supply duct temperature for heating and 77 F.±4 F. for cooling. 3.) HEATING Air flow is at minimum or shut off when room temperature is above setpoint. On a drop in room temperature the air flow increases to maximum, within the throttling range. 4.) LOSS OF POWER With a loss of power to the controller, the damper will fail in place. Page 3 of P2-9/01

4 CSP 5001, 5002 VAV Flow Controller-Actuator Electronic Analog Description The KMC CSP 5001/5002 VAV Flow Controller- Actuators are pressure-independent combination controller-actuators designed primarily for use on variable air volume terminal units. Air flow is sensed by using a single or multi-point differential (velocity) pressure measuring station or pitot tube. Designed with an onboard flow-through sensor utilizing twin platinum resistance temperature detectors, these models are capable of controlling a velocity setpoint from 0 to 3,300 fpm with an accuracy of 3%. The CSP 5001/2 offers full range flow control of VAV terminal units when used with the CTE 5100 series room thermostats. Air velocity flow control limits may be set at the thermostat or internal to the CSP 5001/2. The actuator section provides adjustable stops, magnetic clutch and a gear disengagement button. A tri-color LED indicates green for opening, red for closing and white for satisfied damper positions. Available control options include proportional or two position wet or electric reheat, dual minimums, fan induction, dual duct, and automation interface. 6 REE-1005 Relay Module Heat/Cool Changeover Description The KMC REE-1005 Relay Module is designed primarily for automatic heating /cooling changeover applications on single duct VAV terminal units in HVAC systems. Used in conjunction with the SSE-2000 series sensors the REE-1005 has the ability to change the action of the VAV terminal to either heating or cooling based on the temperature of the supply air to the VAV terminal. Add a blank cover to conceal the module. Wiring Wire as shown for single duct heating/cooling changeover using one box to supply hot or cold air to the space. Maintenance No routine maintenance is required, however protection from extremes of humidity and dirt is recommended. Careful installation will also ensure long term reliability and performance. 9 CTE 5100 Series Electronic Room Thermostat Description The KMC CTE 5100 Electronic Room Thermostat series is designed for use with the CSP 5001/5002 Flow Controller-Actuator and/or the REE 1000/ 4000 series auxiliary relays. Other high impedance (10K ohms or higher) controls such as MEP 1200/ 5000 series actuators, and VEP series valves requiring a 0 to 10 VDC control circuit, may be controlled via any of the CTE 5100 series thermostats. CTE 5100 s have both limited and unlimited outputs. The limited output is used to provide minimum and maximum limits to a CSP 5001/5002, or impose electronic limits to an MEP 1200/5000 series actuator or a VEP series valve. Models are available for cooling, heating, cooling w/ reheat, cooling/heating changeover, day/night or night/day applications. Temperature averaging and/ or overrides are also available. All thermostats require a scale plate assembly and cover which may be ordered separately (See Accessories) or as part of a value package containing the most frequently ordered accessories. Thermostat and accessories styling allow the setpoint indicator and/or thermometer to be visible or concealed, setpoint adjustment locked or restricted, vertical or horizontal mounting and attractive color finishes in plastic or metal.
