OBJECTIVE T prvide financial supprt fr deserving children r wards f full time emplyees f MCA Kitchener- Waterl member cmpanies, fr the purpse f attending recgnized pst-secndary institutins, and t encurage such individuals t attain a high level f academic achievement. RECOGNIZED PROGRAM DEGREE/DIPLOMA Degree curses ffered by Canadian Universities and Ontari Cmmunity Clleges will be given primary cnsideratin. Shuld there be n candidates in the abve prgram; cnsideratin may be extended t ther curses by varius recgnized institutins prviding the intent f the schlarship prgram is met. ELIGIBILITY The schlarship will be awarded annually t sns, daughters r legal wards f persns wh are full-time emplyees f Assciatin Members wh are emplyed by yur Mechanical divisin. Where cmpanies have multiple ffices r multiple areas f activity, the eligibility will be restricted t thse servicing the MCA Kitchener-Waterl area. The member firm must be in gd standing fr at least ne year. The firms must spnsr the candidates(s) and the applicatins(s) must be endrsed by the senir executive fficer f zne peratins. The Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen wh has r will successfully cmplete the requirement t qualify fr pst-secndary educatin. A student must nt therwise receive a majr schlarship r bursary & nt be receiving schlarships frm ther MCA znes awarded r pending. BASIS OF SELECTION The schlarship will be awarded t utstanding students enrlling in a curse leading t a University Degree r Cmmunity Cllege Diplma. The award will be based n academic achievement in the previus academic year. Having a minimum B average is a prerequisite. In additin t academic achievement, preference will be given t thse shwing an interest in the cnstructin sectr with preference given t the mechanical industry. Extra-curricular activity, wrk experience, emplyment reference and supprting material, written submissin and curse f study will be an added aspect f selectin. 2
