5 PART THREE Much of the Cold War involved the United States and the Soviet Union reacting to each other s actions. In the chart you are given a Cold War event. From the list below select the response to that event and place it in the chart accordingly. In two cases, there was a further response from the opposite side include that second response from the list where appropriate. United States forms NASA to put a man on the Moon. Churchill makes his iron curtain speech. Soviet Union forms the Warsaw Pact. United States stops spy-plane flights over the Soviet Union. Cuban Missile Crisis United States becomes involved in Korea and Vietnam. EVENT Red Scare trials and witch-hunt United States and Britain airlift supplies to Berlin.
