2 Getting Started Time Alltment: 15 minutes Optinal: Girl Scut Prmise and Law printed ut n pster bard 1. Welcme everyne t the meeting. 2. Recite the Girl Scut Prmise and Law. Use repeat-after-me r say it as a grup, if girls knw it by heart. Girl Scut Prmise On my hnr, I will try: T serve Gd and my cuntry, T help peple at all times, And t live by the Girl Scut Law. Girl Scut Law I will d my best t be hnest and fair, friendly and helpful, cnsiderate and caring, curageus and strng, and respnsible fr what I say and d, and t respect myself and thers, respect authrity, use resurces wisely, make the wrld a better place, and be a sister t every Girl Scut. 3. Play a game t help girls get t knw each ther better. Use the example belw, if needed. Pile Up: Girls sit n chairs in a circle. Chse a leader wh will have a list f yes r n questins, such as D yu have n brwn shes?, Are yu wearing a ring?, Is yur favrite clr purple? Nte Wrksheets Writing utensils 1. G ver the ntes f the treble clef. Reference the Nte Wrksheet fr specific nte names. Explain t the girls that music is made by playing a cmbinatin f different sunds in an arranged pattern. These sunds are called ntes, and last fr different amunts f time depending n hw they are arranged. 2. Have girls cmplete the Nte Wrksheet. They may wrk individually r with each ther. 3. See hw many wrds the girls came up with frm the wrksheet. Activity #2: Take a Music Trip Badge Cnnectin: Step 2 Travel arund the wrld f music Time Alltment: 20 minutes Prep Needed: Gather materials and supplies. 4 Wrapping Up Time Alltment: 15 minutes Optinal: Make New Friends printed n pster bard 1. Instruct girls t get int a Friendship Circle. Have girls stand in a circle and crss their right arms ver their left, hlding hands with the persn n each side f them. 2. Sing Make New Friends. Make New Friends Verse One Verse Tw Verse Three Make new friends, but keep the ld. One is silver, the ther is gld. A circle is rund, it has n end. That's hw lng, I will be yur friend. Yu have ne hand, I have the ther. Put them tgether, We have each ther. 3. After the sng, ask everyne t be quiet. 4. One f tday s Badge Buddies shuld start the friendship squeeze by gently squeezing her neighbr s hand with her right hand. Then, that girl squeezes with her right hand. One by ne, each girl passes the squeeze until it travels arund the circle. When the squeeze returns t the Badge Buddy wh started, she says Gdbye Sister Girl Scuts and the girls unwrap and face utward instead f inward. 5. Optinal: Have girls make a wish after their hand has been squeezed and befre they pass the squeeze alng. Girls can als put their right ft ut int the circle when they receive the friendship squeeze, s that everyne can see it travel alng the circle.
