1 XXXXXXX Kindergarten Programs We have a wide VARIETY of PLAY-BASED PROGRAMS Learn & Play Playtimes that foster cognitive development, independence, and school readiness through socialization and discovery Create & Play Opportunities that encourage expression, build confidence, and promote creativity Move & Play Activities that burn energy while learning fundamental movement and sport skills Children must be the correct age by the START of the session. Our programs are NUT FREE, please take extra caution when sending snacks. Parented programs, indicated by a, require one parent/guardian to attend. Programs which do not have beside the title are drop-off programs; parents are not permitted to stay in the room. Select parented or drop-off programs based on the needs and developmental stage of your child. If required, register for One-to-One Support in addition to your Preschool Program registration. Please refer to Inclusion Services page 8 for further details. ABC 123 Active Adventures Busy Bees Children learn letters and numbers through explorative and active play. The combination of learning and physical activity keeps energetic children engaged. Ages: 1.5-2yrs 12:45pm-2:00pm Alphabet Adventures $ $101 You and your little one keep busy with the many activities in this fun and creative playtime. Music & movement, activity stations, action songs and instruments will spark your child s imagination. Please register each child individually. Ages: Infant-5yrs Learn through play as each class focuses on a different letter of the alphabet. Creative activities, songs, stories and games enhance the learning experience. Participants must be fully toilet trained. Ages: 3-5yrs Greenwood Discovery Pavilion Ajax Community Centre 10 1:30pm-2:45pm $ $ :30pm-5:00pm Learn kitchen safety, how to measure, mix, follow recipes and clean up. Children bring a treat home each week. Please Note: This is not an allergy free zone. Ages: 3-5yrs Grow your young child s love of nature! Research shows that nature play improves children s physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Children will participate in engaging and motivating tasks and activities in a picturesque outdoor environment. Join us for creek study, low ropes activities, hiking, nature-based crafts, and powwows. Dress for the weather, rain or shine! 2 Energy Busters Jumping Juniors Get active! Learn the fundamentals of physical literacy - balance, body awareness, coordination and movement in this fun-filled program. Games, activities, obstacle courses and circuits will keep your child moving. Ages: 2.5-5yrs A parent-led discovery of movement in areas such as rolling, tumbling, balancing, and climbing. This program is an early introduction to gymnastics, taught through games, songs, and circuits. Ages: 18mths-2.5yrs Fri Sep 30 1:00pm-2:30pm Family Fun Time Designed for the parent or grandparent of an active child and a new baby or toddler, this class includes arts & crafts, music & movement. Please register each child individually. Ages: Infant-5yrs 6:00pm-7:30pm $ $ Get your last minute holiday shopping done while your little one makes beautiful holiday themed crafts! Ages: 2.5-5yrs 9:30am-11:30am 9:30am-11:30am Holiday season will soon be here! Participants enjoy arts & crafts, songs, and active play, while you get to shop! Participants will develop coordination, flexibility and self-confidence through structured games, circuits, and activities in rolling, balancing, sliding, jumping and tumbling. Ages: 2.5-5yrs 10:30am-11:30am Children investigate ways to move and dance to rhythm and music. Imagination, motor skills and self-esteem are developed through learning the basics of ballet and jazz. The credit applies to children up to 16yrs of age. Recreation & Culture has many programs eligible for this tax credit. Let s encourage our children to lead healthy active lives! 4 Saplings Sportball Multi-Sport Exposure to nature is essential for healthy childhood development. Lay a foundation for a love of the natural world. The Greenwood Conservation Area is rich in sensory experiences, gross and fine motor challenges, and opportunities for imaginative play. Hiking, gardening, nature-based crafts, campfire songs and stories are some of the fun activities planned. Dress for the weather, rain or shine!
