1 Messages from Bethel Grove February 2017 Volume 1 Issue 19 New Capital Campaign In December 2015 we were looking back with tears as our sanctuary was torn down. Since then we have endeavored to look forward to each of the next steps for Bethel Grove Church. We have worshipped weekly in our fellowship hall for over a year and a half. We have filled all our Sunday School classrooms and at times almost all of our new chairs. We packed in 43 children plus volunteer leaders and teachers for VBS last summer and we are expecting more this summer. We again have weekly Wednesday night youth in our building. We have been good stewards of what God has given us and are thankful that the church had vision for the future and built what we have. Now it s time for a new vision for a new sanctuary and with a new youth room/class room. God is on the move at Bethel Grove; consider how He would have you join us as we begin to build His house of worship. Scott Hand The verse that came to be the starting push for the building committee is: Luke 6:38 New American Standard Bible (NASB) 38 Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return. We are humbly asking you to join us in preserving the legacy of Bethel Grove Church by making a financial commitment toward the future church building. We are in the midst of a capital campaign to raise $450,000 for the addition that will include a sanctuary, a large youth/ multipurpose room, a new baptistry, and a handicap-accessible stage.

The church has endured because it has always been filled with the love of God and the teachings of His Word. Many of you first learned about Jesus here and have gone on to share your faith with others. We know Bethel Grove Church still holds a special place in your heart. In 2015 the nearly 100-year-old sanctuary was found to be in structural distress and the congregation moved into the 1998-built fellowship hall. The historic sanctuary was taken down. Bethel Grove Church is ready to begin a new chapter with the construction of a new sanctuary in the same location as the old one. We are humbly asking you to join us in preserving the legacy of Bethel Grove Church by making a financial commitment toward the future church building. We are in the midst of a capital campaign to raise $450,000 for the new sanctuary that will include a sanctuary, a large youth/multipurpose room, a new baptistry, and a handicap-accessible stage. We have raised $97,000 and need an additional $75,000 by March 12 to secure a loan. Please prayerfully consider how you can help continue the legacy of Bethel Grove Church by making a financial contribution in honor of the 166 year history and the faithful members who touched your life and nurtured your faith. Thank you. May God always bless you. Bethel Grove Church Congregation

Each committee is chaired by someone who is committed to help. At this time we are in need of someone to take care of the Education committee. Please let Pastor Scott know if you are interested. There are many who will help but need someone to be in charge. One of the more important jobs for the church is that of Treasurer. For many years now Shirley W. has done a fantastic job of taking care of the paying of bills and keeping great records. The need is for someone to be her back-up person so if she gets sick or will be not available we will have someone to take over. Sarah B. has been the church s Secretary for to many years to count. She will also need someone to job shadow her to be able to take over when she decides to retire. Talk to Pastor Scott about any of these serving opportunities.

There is an event in the planning stage so look for details in upcoming newsletters and the weekly bulletin. Thanks Tammy for all your work on this project. Angel-Angel, which means messenger in both Hebrew and Greek, is a spirit-being God created to perform tasks for him. In the Bible angels appear in human form (always as men) to deliver divine messages, Such as to Mary and Joseph to announce Jesus upcoming birth. Scripture offers little information about angles, though we know some rebelled against God. Among the Holy angels, categories include cherubim and seraphim.
