2 CITY OF INKSTER PARKS & RECREATION 2025 MIDDLEBELT ROAD INKSTER, MI OFFICE FAX cityofinkster.com BOOKER DOZIER RECREATION COMPLEX GENERAL BUILDING INFORMATION The specification layout of the facility consists of two stories and 40,000 square feet, It is of split-level design and has a variety of rooms to meet the needs of the community and other groups with special needs. The front lobby has an elevator for seniors and the physically challenged. The building is operated through the Parks and Recreation Department with Administrative and Supervisory staff. RENTALS The facility has several rooms that are available for rental. MULTI-PURPOSE ROOM The Multi-Purpose room is 40 x 66 in dimension, seating capacity is 150. The room has a full sized commercial kitchen. Perfect for graduation parties, anniversaries, or cabarets. MEETING LOUNGE ROOM The Meeting Lounge Room is 60 x 38 in dimension, seating capacity is 150. This room may be used as a meeting room or a reading room that consists of a variety of lounging furniture and chandeliers. Outside of the Meeting Lounge Room is an observation deck which can be used in addition to the main room ((in season) and viewing the swimming pool. GAME ROOM The Game Room has a seating capacity of 75. This room is generally used for Baby Showers, Bridal Showers and meetings. RACQUETBALL COURTS The complex has three (3) Racquetball courts for your enjoyment, their dimensions are approximately 800 sq. ft. of playing area. Each court is 20 x 40. Rental fee for courts: $ 5.00 per hour for members and $ 7.00 per hour for non-members. ENTERTAINMENT ROOM The Entertainment Room has a variety of table games, table tennis, and billiards for your enjoyment. OUTDOOR SWIMMING POOL Our standard size high school pool has an access ramp for seniors and physically challenged. We also have a slide for your enjoyment. It s dimensions are 70 x 40. A full summer season of lessons and open swim sessions are offered.

ACTIVITY PASS FEE INCLUDES One daily swim session (seasonal). Full use of the weight room (18 and over). Full use of the gymnasium as scheduled. Full use of the sauna (men s locker room). Locker room privileges (locks to be provided by users). Full use of Game Room (table games, table tennis, pool) $ 5.00 Spayed/Neutered $ 7.00 Unsexed Dogs are required to have a license in the city of Inkster and are valid July 1st thru June 30th each year. They can be purchased at the Recreation Complex.

4 Sponsored by alpha kappa alpha sorority The Community Health Fair will be held at the Booker Dozier Recreation Complex Prizes, games, a costume contest, trick or treat bags, movies and refreshments are all a part of this fun filled evening, providing a safe alternative to traditional door to door trick or treat activities. All adult chaperones are invited to share in the fun. The Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held at Inkster City Hall, located at Trowbridge. Join the fun as we sing Christmas Carols, and await the arrival of Santa.

5 Competitors of all ages and surrounding areas to participate in this one day event, that tests strength, legality, and still. There will be prizes for who collects the most eggs, and who finds the golden egg. All children must be accompanied by an adult. BEGINNING AT THE CORNER OF CHERRY HILL AND INKSTER ROAD Join us in remembrance of those that have given their lives for this great country. Join us for a fun filled weekend. There will be a variety of great food, vendors, great music, and more. There s be something for everyone. Don t forget the spectacular fireworks display on Saturday, and Gospel Sunday.

6 Boys & Girls ages 8 to 15 are invited to participate in the two day Basketball Camp. Each participant will learn the fundamentals of basketball. 7 Want to be fit and have lots of fun? Start with Enhanced Fitness. It s a free low impact exercise program geared toward improving overall functional fitness and well being of primarily older adults. ( All adults are welcome). The After School Program is conducted at various elementary schools throughout the area. Activities include table games, arts & crafts, field trips, instructional and competitive team and individual sports, such as, flag football floor hockey, volleyball, basketball and track & field. If you re interested in participating in a men s league, come out and join us at the Booker Dozier Recreation Complex.

8 Presents Registration begins September 13th. The program will be held at the Booker Dozier Recreation Complex. The class offers gymnastic strength training and acrobatics as well as dance classes. If you re interested in playing in a Basketball League, Join the Inkster Parks and Recreation Basketball League and show your skills.

9 The Playground Program will be held at Demby Park - Westwood Park - Manor Park Wheatley Park - Dartmouth Park - LeMoyne Park and The Recreation Complex. Youth at each park participate in outdoor sports, various table games, arts & crafts and go on various field trips IN COOPERATION WITH WAYNE COUNTY & INKSTER VALLEY GOLF CLUB Participants will learn the basic fundamentals of golf play. Equipment will be provided. Banquet and tournament at end of program Registration before June 30: $ 25 - Registration after June 30: $ 30 FREE for Senior Citizens The seven week program offers lessons available for beginners, intermediate, and advanced players. Equipment will be provided.
