A formal supervisory referral to EAP counseling to assess an employee s: Unsatisfactory job performance Personal issues that may be affecting performance A management tool to help employees resolve problems and improve job performance Not a disciplinary measure (nor a replacement for disciplinary measures) 16

17 Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) What is CISM? Critical incident stress management is a term for the broad range of crisis intervention services designed to support employees after a critical incident by: Helping individuals cope in a healthy way and return to normal functioning in a timely manner Helping organizations meet human and business needs Examples of critical incidents: Death of a co-worker Catastrophic events Traumatic accidents Workplace violence 17

20 Wellbeing Assessment The Wellbeing assessment is an online questionnaire that measures your wellbeing in 6 categories: life evaluation emotional health physical health healthy behaviors work environment basic access to health/life resources This gives a complete picture of current wellbeing, risks, and areas for improvement for you. When you complete the assessment, you will receive a personal wellbeing report and an action plan. 20
