2 General: SPECIFICATION FOR LT BUSDUCT AND ACCESSORIES This specification covers the design, engineering, manufacture, inspection, supply, transport, and erection supervision of LT bus duct and its accessories for 1X13.3 MW Captive power plant of M/s. SHREE CEMENT LIMITED at Dahej, Gujarat. The transformer end and switchgear end flange details will be made available to the successful tenderer for finalizing the details during engineering. 3. Bus duct length may vary during detailed engineering, take off price for length deleted shall be reimbursed. Other Requirements: Accessibility and Interchangeability All working parts, as far as possible, shall be arranged for convenient operation, inspection and ease of replacement with minimum downtime. Quality and Workmanship The quality of materials and the workmanship of the finished products /components shall be in accordance with the highest standard and practices. Painting All metal surfaces shall be chemically cleaned, degreased and pickled in acid to produce a smooth clean surface, free of scale, grease and rust. After cleaning, phosphating and passivation treatment, the surface shall be given two coats of zinc rich epoxy primer and baking in the oven. After primer, it shall be given two coats of Epoxy paint shade RAL 7032.Sufficient quantity of touch up paint shall be furnished for application at site.

4 Commissioning Spares Separate item-wise list of commissioning spares indicating quantity of each item offered along with price shall be furnished in offer. Tools and Tackles The tenderer shall include in his offer price for special tools, tackles and accessories for 2 years normal operation and maintenance of equipment. Drawing and other Documents to be furnished by Successful Tenderer After award of contract & before manufacturing : TEN (10) sets of the under noted drawings before commencement of manufacturing of any equipment covered by this specification shall be submitted for Purchaser's comments or approval. 1. GA and section arrangement of equipment 2. Heat loss data for equipment 3. Design calculations for selection of bus bar, support insulator span, temp rise. With Delivery of Equipment and Materials at Site TEN (10) sets each of the following drawings and documents shall be submitted with delivery of equipment: As built drawings of above mentioned equipment. Instructions and drawings for proper erection and assembly of all equipment. Instructions for operation and maintenance of all equipment. Test certificates for each item of equipment. List of spare parts with specifications as well as manufacturer's catalogues. Complete list of equipment detailing individual items with ratings, capacity, service etc. The documents shall be submitted as early as possible but not later than one month before despatch of respective equipment from the supplier's works. Drawings on Completion of Work On completion of the work, the contractor shall supply soft copy in CD s two (2) sets along with eight (8) sets of As commissioned drawings. Supervision of Installation and Commissioning The successful Tenderer shall be required to supervise at site the complete erection of equipment supplied by him as well as pre-commissioning tests and performance tests of the same. 03. STANDARDS The design, manufacture and testing of equipment shall be carried out as per the latest Indian Standards, Indian Electricity Rules, relevant Code of Practices and requirement of Chief Electrical Inspectorate of State Government. 5 IS:5578 IS:1271 IS:10026 IS 5082 IS:3043 Guide for marking of insulated conductors Thermal evaluation and classification of electrical insulation Insulating varnishes containing solvents Wrought aluminium and aluminium alloy bars, rods, tubes and sections for electrical purposes Code of practice for earthing Wherever Indian standards do not exist, the equipment/components shall be designed, assembled and tested in accordance with the latest editions of International standards. 4.0 SCOPE OF SUPPLY The bus duct shall include the following based on the requirement (for each bus duct). Tenderer shall include other accessories required if not listed below in his offer: a. Straight Run in Standard length. b. 90-degree bends. c. One - Adapter box with tinned copper flexible for connection at trafo end. d. One - Adapter box with aluminium flexible for connection at switchgear panel. e. One set of wall frame assembly with FRP sealing plate for wall entry. f. Laminated Aluminum Expansion joints in straight run as required shall be provided in every section of 4 m. g. Space heaters shall be provided every section of 4 m. h. One set of galvanized supporting structure for complete bus duct trunking. i. Silica gel breather at suitable length. j. Inspection covers to access insulators, joints, etc., k. Rubber bellows as required shall be provided. 5. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION The following to be considered during Design and Manufacturing of Bus duct: Sufficient working space to operate on the farthest bus bar joint / bolt shall be maintained. All opening-mating surfaces like surface inspection openings etc., shall be gasketed using Neoprene gasket with sufficient overlap. Provision for draining moisture shall be provided. Provision of insulated separators between the adjacent flexible joints Construction

6 The bus trunking will be used for interconnection between LT transformer and LT switchboard. The bus bars and bus bar supports shall with stand the maximum thermal and electromagnetic stresses and strains due to the maximum short circuit current corresponding to the fault level indicated, without any deformation, deterioration or damage. Span and arrangement / type of insulator shall be in-line with the type tested prototype. Suitable provisions shall be made for the expansion of the busbars caused by temperature variation/thermal expansion. Due consideration shall be given to proximity / skin effects and reactance, while choosing the sizes of the busbars and spacing. Appropriate identification markings/labels shall be provided on the busbars and tapings for distinguishing the various phases and neutral. Additional busbar supports for the busbars shall be provided at all bends Busbar joints All joints of busbars shall have effective treatment (Thoroughly cleaned to remove any Aluminium oxide layer prior to jointing and applied with sufficient quantity of Oxide inhibiting grease) for maintaining the conductivity of the joints as per relevant standards. Busbar joint contact surfaces are silver plated. Bimetallic strips shall be made between copper and aluminum conductors for the prevention of any electrolytic action. Sufficient clearances shall be ensured at all joints. Straight through in standard length shall be provided 5.02 Enclosure Composition of material of enclosure shall be chosen to avoid any possible hysteresis effect on the bus trunking. Wall cross over assembly shall have hot dipped galvanized after fabrication. Bus trunking enclosure and its terminations on the equipment shall be designed in such a way that vibrations of the 415V Switchgear & transformer shall not be transmitted to them. The entire bus trunking shall be made dust and vermin proof. Special care shall be taken while designing the joints of bus trunking unit to prevent any moisture getting inside through joints. Arrangement offered shall be proven and type tested one and easy for maintenance (Especially features like sufficient space for inspection of Bus bar joint tightness using torque Wrench without removing anything). All similar parts of equipment shall be interchangeable Earthing Two copper earth flat green painted and tinned of 50X6 mm shall run along the entire length of bus trunking. A minimum of two terminals, shall be provided on both ends of earth bus for external connections to earth grid with connecting hardware. 6. Inspection and Testing The supplier shall offer the above equipment for the following Inspections/Tests, which may be witnessed by the Purchaser/ Purchaser's representatives. The supplier shall be responsible for

7 providing instruments of correct accuracy that may be required for carrying out these tests. All tests shall be carried out as per relevant Indian Standard Specifications or other International Standard Specifications. Visual Inspection (i) Visual inspection for fabrication, workmanship, bus bars mounting, alignments, electrical clearances and provision of flexible joints, overall dimension and flange details as per approved drawings. (ii) Measurement of bus bars run. Routine Tests 1. Measurement of resistance. 2. High voltage test. 3. Insulation resistance test (before and after the HV test). 4. One (1) minutes power frequency dry & wet with stand voltage 2.5KV A Site Tests Check for physical damage Check for tightness of fixing bolts, nuts, clamps, etc., Check for earth connections Check for cleanliness of insulators Check for name plate details as per specifications HV Test Insulation resistance test Any other physical check as recommended by equipment manufacturer/indian Standards/Codes for Practice. Any other pre-commissioning tests as recommended by the manufacturer. 7. PERFORMANCE GUARANTEE: The Supplier shall give a guarantee for trouble free operation of the equipment offered under stipulated operating conditions. All measuring instruments to be used for performance test shall have certified accuracy of 0.5% and shall be arranged by the Supplier during the test.
