2 OUR CORE PROGRAM: YOLANDA RECOVERY AND REHABILITATION PROGRAM [YRRP] DEBRIS MANAGEMENT Proper disposal of felled coconut trees to clear public and private lands of the debris that poses hazard to the environment and health. The project is also aimed to prevent the occurrence of pest infestation, support organic fertilization and the shelter development program of the government thru: i. Deployment of chainsaws and saw mills ii. Cash-for-Work (CFW) program for hired farmers iii. Biological Control Program for the potential occurrence of rhino beetle. This involve mass production of Green Muscardine Fungus (GMF).

3 OUR CORE PROGRAM: YOLANDA RECOVERY AND REHABILITATION PROGRAM [YRRP] REPLANTING Replacement of totally damaged coconut trees thru replanting using OPV tall. It shall implement a new planting scheme by group of 3 s in triangular pattern particularly in upland and coastal areas. The project involves a grant-in-kind of 192 trees per hectare (in coastal and upland areas) or 100 trees per hectare (inland) area) plus Php 3,000 subsidy for labor.

5 OUR CORE PROGRAM: YOLANDA RECOVERY AND REHABILITATION PROGRAM [YRRP] FERTILIZATION Provision of grant-in-kind fertilizers to affected coconut farming families such as: a) a compact N+K fertilizer of 10 pieces per coconut tree or 10 boxes per hectare with 100 coconut trees planted; or b) Coco-Gro at 3 kg. per tree or 6 bags/hectare; or c) other suitable fertilizers recommended, e.g. organic fertilizers, etc. This is intended for slightly or moderately affected trees to hasten its recovery. The project involve grant of Php 3,000 labor subsidy per hectare.

6 OUR CORE PROGRAM: YOLANDA RECOVERY AND REHABILITATION PROGRAM [YRRP] INTERCROPPING This is to build food security, fight hunger and malnutrition in the light of the Typhoon Yolanda that has seriously affected the lives and livelihood of the people in the Visayas regions. Intercropping involves the planting of leguminous crops, e.g. Mungbean and peanut to increase soil fertility; and also corn, vegetable, root crops, banana, coffee, and cacao among others. A grant-in-kind assistance in the form of planting materials and fertilizers shall be provided to affected farmer families.

7 Accomplishments As of April 11, 2014 DEBRIS MANAGEMENT Procured 1,240 chainsaws which resulted in the following: a.) cutting of some 199,988 felled coconut trees; b.) producing to equivalent 18,490, M bd. ft. of coco lumber benefitting some 15,359 farmers; c.) procured 5 units of sawmills and 41 units of shredder. Delivery is ongoing; and d.) 5 units of farm tractor were deployed in Region VI and VIII. Additional 5 units were procured, 2 units of these were delivered in Eastern Samar. FERTILIZATION REPLANTING INTERCROPPING 87,630 bags of coco-gro were procured. 10,350 bags were delivered in Regions VI & VII. Started the delivery of 20,000 boxes of N+K (spikes) fertilizers to Region VIII. As of date, 10,000 boxes were already delivered. Distributed some 672,816 coconut seedlings and planted to 6, has. benefiting some 2,747 coconut farmers. Some 476,500 sweet potato cutting have been delivered to Regions VI and VIII. 219,533 packs of assorted vegetables (pinakbet) have been procured and 60,994 packs have been planted. 24,667 bags of mongo had been procured, out of which 12,070 bags already delivered and distributed to various municipalities of Leyte. 13,463 bags of glutinous white corn was procured. 2,210 bags were delivered in Regions VI & VIII. Procured 99,533 bags of fertilizer to complement intercropping activities as well as complement fertilizer for coconut. 95,000 bags have been delivered.
