2 12Gb/s PCIe Gen3 RAID Adapters Series 8 and Series 8Q The Series 8 and Series 8Q RAID adapters feature PMC s 12Gb/s RAID-on-Chip (ROC), which combines a x8 PCIe Gen3 host interface with 12Gb/s SAS ports to enable a new generation of high-performance RAID adapters. Series 8/8Q RAID adapters are available with 4, 8 or 16 native SAS/SATA ports in a Low-Profile/MD2 form factor with mini SAS HD connectors that connect twice as many as the competition. Highlights: Integrated Green Backup: Instant flash-based cache protection. The 81605ZQ and 81605Z adapters stand out with flash-based backup embedded on the board, eliminating the need for a daughterboard and further enhancing our green footprint. maxcache3.0 (Series 8Q): Supports read and write caching. By caching writes to a redundant SSD cache pool (RAID1, RAID1E or RAID5, maxcache 3.0 leverages the performance and latency capabilities of SSD technology for both read and write work loads. The read caching function is also improved with maxcache 3.0, with additional optimizations to the learned-path algorithm. maxcache 3.0 SSD Caching software is the only caching solution that supports up to 2 TB of SSD cache. 12Gb/s Performance: Up to 6.6 GB/s sequential reads and 6.2 GB/s sequential writes. With 16 direct-connected solid-state drives (SSDs), Series 8 adapters can deliver >700K IOPS ZQ

3 6Gb/s PCIe Gen3 RAID adapters and HBAs Series 7 16 x 6Gb/s SAS ports 9600 MB/s Series 7 and Series 7Q RAID adapters deliver up to 6.6 GB/s on sequential reads and 5.7GB/s on sequential writes. With 16 direct-connected solid-state drives (SSDs), Series 7/7Q adapters can deliver over 530K IOPS nearly 10x the performance of previous-generation RAID adapters. While the PCIe Gen3 interface doubles bandwidth to the host compared to PCIe Gen2, it requires at least 16 6Gb/s SAS/SATA ports to double the bandwidth to the storage. Competing PCIe Gen3 solutions have only 8 ports, and cannot leverage that advantage. Series 7H HBAs deliver up to 1 million 512Byte block size for data centers requiring maximum I/O connectivity and low latency. The 82885T SAS Expander Card offers 36 ports in a low-profile MD2 form factor with 28 internal ports for connection to a SAS controller and/or SAS or SATA drives and 8 external ports for optional connections to external JBODs T Universal Compatibility with Existing Storage Infrastructure The 82885T SAS Expander Card is fully compatible with Series 8, Series 7 and Series 6 RAID adapters and HBAs, allowing for a seamless integration and management within an end-to-end solution.
