1 Saturday 04 July 2015 ALL INDIA WEATHER SUMMARY AND FORECAST BULLETIN NIGHT Monsoon Watch The southwest monsoon has been normal over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, West Bengal & Sikkim, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, West Rajasthan, East Madhya Pradesh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Lakshadweep during past 24 hours ending at 0830 hours IST of today. Significant weather observations Heavy to very heavy rainfall has occurred at isolated places over Assam & Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Coastal Karnataka during past 24 hours ending at 0830 hours IST of today. Main Weather Observations Rainfall: (From 0830 to 1730 hours IST of today): Rain/thundershowers has occurred at a few places over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, West Bengal & Sikkim, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Kerala and at isolated places over Konkan & Goa and Coastal Karnataka. The amounts of rainfall (1 cm or more) recorded at 1730 hours IST of today are: Passighat 7; Jalpaiguri 4 and Malda 1. Maximum temperatures are above normal by 2 5 C at most places over Jharkhand, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Konkan & Goa, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Kerala; at many places over Jammu & Kashmir, East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Gujarat region, Madhya Maharashtra, interior Karnataka and Tamilnadu; at a few places over Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra & Kutch and Andaman & Nicobar Islands and at isolated places over Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Assam & Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura and near normal over rest of the country. Kalpana1: Cloud imagery of 1730 hours IST shows convective clouds over some parts of East Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, West Bengal & Sikkim, Assam & Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura and Bay of Bengal. Low/medium clouds are seen over rest parts of the country.

2 Meteorological Analysis (Based on 1730 hours IST) The western end of monsoon trough at mean sea level passes through close to the foot hills of Himalayas and eastern end passes through Bahraich, Gorakhpur, Bhagalpur, Santiniketan and thence southeastward to northeast Bay of Bengal. The north south trough from eastern parts of Bihar to northwest Bay of Bengal across Gangetic West Bengal between 0.9 to 3.6 km above mean sea level persists. The fresh western disturbance as an upper air cyclonic circulation over western parts of Afghanistan & neighbourhood extending upto 5.8 km above mean sea level persists. Weather Forecast for next 5 days * Upto 0830 hours IST of 09th July 2015 Meteorological sub division wise detailed 5 day rainfall forecast is given in the following page. No significant change in day temperatures over plains of northwest and adjoining central India during next 48 hours and fall by 2 3 C thereafter. Weather Outlook for subsequent 2 days From 09th July to 11th July 2015 Widespread rainfall activity with heavy to very heavy falls at a few places over western Himalayan region and northern plains. Widespread rainfall activity would continue over northeastern states and Sub Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim.
