4 Energy Efficient Lighting Energy Efficient Lighting LED Light Bulbs To qualify for ENERGY STAR, LED lighting products must pass a variety of tests to prove that the products will display the following characteristics: Brightness is equal to or greater than existing lighting technologies (incandescent or fluorescent) and light is well distributed over the area lighted by the fixture. Light output remains constant over time, only decreasing towards the end of the rated lifetime (at least 25,000 hours or 22 years based on use of 3 hours per day). Excellent color quality. The shade of white light appears clear and consistent over time. Efficiency is as good as or better than fluorescent lighting. Light comes on instantly when turned on. No flicker when dimmed. Rebate: (maximum of 5 - product must be purchased in 2015)...$8.00 each LED Holiday Light Strings (minimum: 25 lights per strand) Make the holidays bright for less with ENERGY STAR LED holiday light strings. LED holiday lights last longer; they have an operational life span of roughly 20,000 hours, enough to last for 40 holiday seasons. Because they use less power, it is safer to connect multiple strings of LED holiday lights end-to-end without overloading the wall socket. LED holiday lights are made in the same shapes and varieties as typical incandescent holiday lights, but LED holiday lights are more durable than incandescent bulbs, with the lamp shape typically made out of a solid plastic rather than glass. Running LED holiday lights on one 6-foot tree for 12 hours per day for 40 days can save 90% or more energy when compared to traditional incandescent holiday lights. Rebate: (maximum of 5 - product must be purchased in 2015)...$3.00 each LUMENS = BRIGHTNESS WATTS = ENERGY USED LUMENS (brightness) WATTS LED Light Bulbs WATTS Incandescent Light Bulbs , ,
