1 Hong Kong Clean PC Day 2010 Logo Design Contest Launched in 2005, the Hong Kong Clean PC Day is an annual promotion campaign on information security jointly organised by the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer, Hong Kong Computer Emergency Response Team Coordination Centre and the Hong Kong Police Force. Each year, a series of promotional activities are organised, including thematic seminars on security, leaflets and posters, radio episodes, school visits and online competitions. In the past few years, the campaign organised promotional activities in various themes, including helping the public to build the good habits of cleaning up their PCs regularly, enabling the small and medium enterprises understand more on information security management, enhancing awareness of youngsters on cyber attacks, and raising the awareness of security issues concerning online transactions such as e-banking and e-auction. More information about the Hong Kong Clean PC Day can be found at this URL: Entered the sixth year of this annual campaign, we invite all of you, with your unlimited creativity, to design a logo embodying the aim of the Hong Kong Clean PC Day information security promotion campaign. Details of the contest are as follows: Objectives The contest seeks to encourage participants creativity to design a logo embodying the aim of the Hong Kong Clean PC Day campaign. The campaign aims to raise public awareness of information security and to build up good habit of protecting their computers from cyber attacks. The winning design will be featured on the websites and publications of the Hong Kong Clean PC Day campaign. Eligibility The contest is divided into Student Group and Open Group. Submissions to more than one group are permitted, either on an individual or team basis. However, each design can only be submitted once, the same design is not allowed to be used to join both groups. Each participant or team should submit only 1 design to each group, additional design will not be considered. Student group: Open to all full-time primary and secondary school students in Hong Kong. Team members must be from the same school. 1

2 Open group: Open to all Hong Kong residents. (All persons involved in the planning and implementation of the contest are not eligible for joining the contest. They include (but not limited to): members of the organising committee, judging panel and their immediate family members.) All designs and their brief description must not be published previously. They must be the original work of the participant(s) and should not violate any copyright and be free from intellectual property claims. The copyright of all entries under this Contest is vested solely in the Organisers upon submission. The Organisers at all times reserve the full right to disqualify entries that in the sole opinion of the Organisers infringe intellectual property rights. The Organisers have the right to demonstrate or advertise in any format on the entries in public exhibition, at their websites or in their publications. The participants agree to participate in publicity events related to the contest upon invitation by the Organisers. Participants are to abide by the decisions of the panel of judges, which shall be final. Participants shall abide by the regulations of the contest and other provisions and conditions set out in the application form. The Organisers reserve the right to interpret and make changes to the regulations of the contest and other provisions and conditions set out in the application form. Participants have the right of access and correction with respect to their personal data. Such is stipulated in Sections 18 and 22 and Principle 6 of Schedule 1 of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance.
