3 Lower School DRESS CODE GENERAL INFORMATION All standardized dress must be purchased at either Lands End or at the Cougar Shoppe. When ordering uniforms through Lands End, you will be asked for your child s gender and grade. Please make sure you enter the correct information so that your child will have the correct standardized dress. The Brookstone portal will show the options available when you visit the Lands End website. Students at Brookstone are expected to be wellgroomed and decently dressed at all times. They are expected to respect their school uniform and wear it with pride. All clothing should be clearly marked with the student s name. The school cannot be responsible for articles left at school. Unclaimed clothes not picked up after specified dates will be donated to the used uniform sale or eventually to charity. All items marked with an (O) are optional pieces and may be worn at any time unless it is a day designated as the required uniform day (field trips, etc.). PANTS Regulation navy pants with requisite B (R) SHORTS Regulation navy shorts with requisite B (O) NOTE: Only regulation pants and shorts that have the requisite B embroidered on them will be considered part of the school s uniform. All others are prohibited. White (R), light blue (O), or gray (O) short or long-sleeved knit shirt with Brookstone logo - A white short-sleeve knit shirt is required for field trips and special occasions. (R) UNDERSHIRT Plain white short/long-sleeved with no lettering (O) Black or brown braided or plain leather belt (R) Regulation Brookstone sweatshirt (O) may wear non-brookstone heavy coats to and from carpool and at recess. JUMPERS Plaid jumper (R) - Length must be no more than three (3) inches above the top of the kneecap. NAVY KNIT DRESS (long or short-sleeved) (O) Length must be no more than three (3) inches above the top of the kneecap. NAVY PANTS AND SHORTS (O) - Shorts should be worn no shorter than three (3) inches above the kneecap. NOTE: Only regulation pants, shorts, and dresses that have the requisite B embroidered on them will be considered part of the school s uniform. All others are prohibited. White (R) or light blue (O) short/long-sleeved Peter Pan blouse White or light blue short/long-sleeved knit shirt with Brookstone logo (O) Plain white long-sleeved turtleneck (O) NOTE: A white short-sleeved Peter Pan blouse is required. UNDER Plain white long/short-sleeved with no lettering (O) Regulation Brookstone sweatshirt (O) Regulation Brookstone fleece pea coat cardigan (O) may wear non-brookstone heavy coats to and from carpool and at recess. NAVY LEGGINGS Leggings may be worn with the jumper or knit dress (O).
4 TIGHTS Plain white socks with no logo (O) Navy leggings (O) Knee socks in navy or white only (O) - Socks, leggings, or tights are required. - No trouser socks LOWER SCHOOL GENERAL RULES FOR DRESS CLOTHING a. Clothes must be in good condition. They must be neat and clean. No holes in clothing will be allowed. Belts must be worn with all pants and shorts. The belts must be visible.. b. All shirts must be worn tucked inside pants, shorts, and skirts. Non-marking Mary Jane style leather or suede shoes in brown, navy blue, white, or black with a rubber bottom - No heels - Shoe laces must be tied at all times for safety reasons. c. Hats should never be worn inside a building on campus. School caps are only permitted for outdoor classes and with the permission of the teacher (principally, any physical education activities). Black or brown braided or plain leather belt (O) - A belt is required with pants/shorts with belt loops. e. Students are required to arrive on campus properly attired. d. Uniforms are to be worn when the student is on campus during the school day. OUT OF UNIFORM DAYS Out of Uniform days are periodically allowed. On these days students may wear jeans or casual solid color pants or shorts. No athletic, camouflage, or sweat pants are allowed. Logos of the shirt manufacturer or a Brookstone logo are the only advertising allowed on shirts. No tank tops or sleeveless blouses are permitted. The students must wear shoes appropriate for school. If the out of uniform day is to promote a school event, students may be asked to wear a specific shirt. PERSONAL APPEARANCE a. Hair must be clean and neatly groomed. For boys and girls, extreme hair styles or unnatural colors are not allowed. Students who arrive on campus in violation of this policy may expect to be sent home immediately to remedy the problem. b. No makeup may be worn with uniforms. Lip gloss with color tint is not allowed.

7 Middle School DRESS CODE GENERAL INFORMATION All standardized dress must be purchased at either Lands End or at the Cougar Shoppe. Students in eighth grade during the school year may wear dress code bottoms purchased from vendors other than Lands End and the Cougar Shoppe. When ordering uniforms through Lands End, you will be asked for your child s gender and grade. Please make sure you enter the correct information so that your child will have the correct standardized dress. The Brookstone portal will show the options available when you visit the Lands End website. Students at Brookstone are expected to be wellgroomed and decently dressed at all times. They are expected to respect their school uniform and wear it with pride. The uniform dress code is not a reflection of current fashions. Enforcement of the dress code, like all other discipline matters, is based on cooperation among students, parents, and the school. The Principal and Dean of Students, however, are the final authorities on dress code and other discipline issues. All clothing should be clearly marked with the student s name. The school cannot be responsible for articles left at school. Unclaimed clothes not picked up after specified dates will be donated to the used uniform sale or eventually to charity. MIDDLE SCHOOL BOYS NOTE: All items marked with the following symbol (R) are required pieces of the uniform. All items marked with an (O) are optional pieces and may be worn at any time unless it is a day designated as the required uniform day (field trips, etc.). PANTS Regulation navy (O) or khaki (R) pants with requisite B SHORTS Regulation navy or khaki shorts with requisite B (O) NOTE: Only regulation pants and shorts that have the requisite B embroidered on them will be considered part of the school s uniform. All others are prohibited. White (R), cobalt blue (O), blue (O), and gray heather (O) short or long-sleeved knit shirt with Brookstone logo White performance-textured polo shirt (O) White (O) or light blue (O) Oxford shirt with Brookstone logo - A white short-sleeved knit shirt is required for field trips and special occasions (R). - All shirts must be tucked in at all times. - Collars must be buttoned at all times. - Only plain white undershirts with no graphics or color anywhere on them are permitted. - Long-sleeved undershirts are not to be worn under shortsleeved shirts at any time. UNDER Plain white short/long-sleeved with no lettering (O) Black or brown braided or plain leather belt (R) Regulation Brookstone blue or gray sweatshirt (O) may wear non-brookstone heavy coats when outside the building. Plain white or may have a logo that is less than one inch wide (R) Black or navy with logo less than one inch wide (O) - Socks are required. Black, tan, or brown leather/suede shoes so the ankle can be seen. - Shoes must be appropriate for school. - Shoes must cover feet completely. - No sandals or clogs are permitted. - Shoelaces must be tied at all times for safety reasons. PHYSICAL EDUCATION UNIFORM Regulation t-shirt and shorts purchased from Lands End are required. MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS NOTE: All items marked with the following symbol (R) are required pieces of the uniform. All items marked with an (O) are optional pieces and may be worn at any time unless it is a day designated as the required uniform day (field trips, etc.).
