Timed Finals - 10 & Under and 11 & 12 Dates & Times: Thursday, June 24, 2010 Timed Finals, All Age Groups, 4:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, June 25 & 26, 2010 Morning Prelim Session,13 & 14 and Seniors, 8:00 a.m. Afternoon Timed Final Session, 10 & Under and 11 & 12, no earlier than 11:30 a.m. Evening Final Session, 13 & 14 and Seniors, 5:30 p.m. Sunday, June 27, 2010 Morning Prelim Session, 13 & 14 and Seniors, 8:00 a.m. Afternoon Timed Final Session, 10 & Under, and 11 & 12, no earlier than 11:30 a.m. Evening Final Session, 13 & 14 and Seniors, 5:00 p.m. Location: The Bolles School Aquatic Complex, 7400 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL Pool Specifications: Timing Equipment: Warm-up: Eligibility: Outdoor, 8-lane, 50-meter course with non-turbulent lane lines; additional 25-yard pool for continuous warmup during meet. Water depth at the competition starting and turn end(s) is a minimum of four feet (4 0 ) The competition course has been certified in accordance with C(4). The copy of such certification is on file with USA Swimming. Colorado timing system and back up with scoreboard; Hytek Meet Manager for Windows will be used to score the meet. Thursday Evening 3:30 to 4:20 p.m. Morning Sessions 6:30 to 7:50 a.m. Afternoon Sessions a minimum of 15 minutes guaranteed on course prior to the start of events. Finals Sessions a minimum of 30 minutes guaranteed on course prior to the start of events. Continuous warm-up will be available during all sessions in the adjacent Lobrano Pool. Open to all USA Swimming registered swimmers. Entry Limit: Entries will close upon receipt of the team that puts the total number of entered visiting swimmers over and Senior swimmers are limited to six (6) individual events entered for the entire meet, with no more than three (3) individual events entered per day. Any swimmer entered in excess of this limit will be considered as entered in the first six (6) individual events and/or three (3) individual events that day and scratched from all subsequent events entered in the meet and/or that day. Seeding: 10 & Under/ are limited to nine (9) individual events for the meet with no more than three individual events entered per day. Any swimmer entered in excess of this limit will be considered as entered in the first nine (9) individual events and/or three (3) individual events that day and scratched from all subsequent events entered in the meet and/or that day. Fifty (50) meter long course times will be used for seeding. Conversions may be made using the formula in the 2010 Florida Swimming handbook or by the standard computer software used to prepare your entry. Swimmers in individual events that are deck seeded must check in with the administrative referee by the designated and Page 1 of 8

2 Scratches: Electronic Entries: Entry Form: Deck Entries: Entry Fee: announced time prior to the start of the event to be seeded (see order of events for deck-seeded events, swimmer limits and deadlines). Swimmers not checked in who desire to swim the event may be added to an available lane, if any, upon notification to the Referee prior to the start of the event. Prelims: No penalty for scratching on the block in prelims with the exception of deck seeded events. Any swimmer entered in a deck seeded event that has checked in for the event must swim the event unless he/she notifies the administrative referee before the seeding has begun that he/she wishes to scratch. Failure to do so will result in the swimmer being barred from the next individual event in which he/she is entered unless excused by the meet referee because of illness or injury. Finals: Any swimmer who competes in a preliminary heat and qualifies as one of the finalists, must swim in that event s final, or must notify the administrative referee that he/she intends to scratch from that final's event within thirty (30) minutes of the conclusion of prelims. Any swimmer seeded in a final who fails to swim that event will be barred from their next event entered in the meet unless excused by the meet referee because of illness or injury. A swimmer not originally qualified for finals who is seeded into a final due to the scratch of another swimmer will not be penalized for failing to swim in that final. Note: Alternates desiring to swim in an open lane in finals must be standing at the starter s stand, ready to step up to the blocks, at the start of the race. The announcer will not call for any swimmer and the referee will not unduly delay the meet to insert an alternate into a final. Timed Finals: No penalty for scratching on the block with the exception of deck seeded events. Any swimmer entered in a deck seeded event that has checked in for the event must swim the event unless he/she notifies the administrative referee before the seeding has begun that he/she wishes to scratch. Entries must be in USA Swimming SDIF format or Hy-Tek CL2 format; free text entries will not be accepted. A signed hard copy printout is acceptable as proof of entry in place of the enclosed entry forms. Diskette or ed entries must be accompanied by a backup hard copy of the entry and a Master Entry Form, signed by a current USA Swimming Member, must be included. List all attending coaches, contact phone numbers and addresses in the body of the . Corrupted, unreadable or incorrectly formatted files must be corrected within 24 hours. Errors in entries submitted electronically are the responsibility of the applicant. Electronic mail confirmation will be sent upon receipt of file. If not submitting an electronic entry, the enclosed Entry Form will serve as proof of entry. The legal name and current USA Swimming Registration Number for each swimmer must be listed on the Entry Form. The Master Entry Form must accompany the proof of entries and a current USA Swimming Member must sign the form. Deck entries will be accepted if there are empty lanes available. No new heats will be created. Swimmers checked in for deck seeded events that are not allowed to swim due to the swimmer limit for the event may enter another event if there is an available lane no new heats will be created. A swimmer may not scratch a deck seeded event to deck enter an event. The coach of the swimmer(s) choosing to do this must report to the scoring room within fifteen (15) minutes of the event seeding being posted, at which time the replacement entry will be made. No refund of the entry fee will be made for a swimmer that does not get seeded into an event and does not choose to enter a replacement event. No phone or fax entries accepted, we recommend Express Mail or other rapid mail service or electronic mail. Medals, first through third places; ribbons, fourth through eighth places; Individual Age Group High Point and Runner-up awards provided by TYR. All events will be scored as follows: Individual Events: Rules: Current USA Swimming Technical Rules and Regulations will govern the conduct of this meet. Safety rules, as outlined by USA Swimming and as recognized by the Head Marshall, will be in effect during all warm-up periods and in all warm-up areas. No equipment (hand paddles, kick boards, etc.) will be allowed in any warm-up area. Sessions: Fly-over starting procedures will be utilized (completed heats swimmers remain in the pool until the next heat has started). If the session timelines indicate longer than three hours (3:00), the referee may opt for starting events from both ends of the pool utilizing chase starts ( the heat at the opposite end of the pool starts when the last swimmer in the opposite end heat reaches their final 25 meters of the race). Identification: Coaches/ Team Representatives must hold a current USA Swimming Coaches Certification/ Registrations and display their cards at all times on deck. Coaches/ Team Representatives not providing proof of current certifications/ registrations will not be permitted on the pool deck. Coach Supervision: Team Representative: All swimmers participating in the meet must be supervised by an USA Swimming Certified Coach. Prior to the start of the meet, the name of one current USA Swimming registered person other than the coach who will check with the Meet Referee about any matter pertaining to the meet may be given to the Meet Referee. Current credentials must be worn at all times on deck. The coach(es) and that person only will be recognized.
