Each townhouse unit has 3 or 4 single bedrooms. You have your own private bedroom with a locked door. You will share the bathroom, kitchen and living area with 2 or 3 other students of the same gender. These furnished units are air-conditioned and have a kitchen with fridge and stove, two washrooms with showers and shared living area.

3 your bedroom cooking in residence Each guest has their own room with student furnishings. There are three to four bedrooms in each student unit located on the upper or lower level. Linens are not provided if you do not purchase a care package (see page 6). Each bedroom has a lock on the room door to provide you with the privacy and security you need while you are studying at Brock University. You have telephone and cable television service available in the common area. No television is provided but rentals are available. Wireless Internet access is available. Each house has a full fridge and electric stove for the use of all of the guests in your house. Students can pre-order a care package that would include cookware and dinnerware. Guests can cook for themselves during their stay. There are no microwaves provided but they are available to rent. room layout in-room amenities internet Wireless internet service is free of charge. You can enjoy the security of people that care to make your stay in Niagara a great experience. The Conference Centre is interested in what we can do to make your stay better. You are welcome to call us any time during your stay if we can be of service. Items to sign out at the desk... - irons - study light - hangers - vacuum - linens (if you have purchased a care package) Mail Shipments or guest mail can be sent to the Conference Centre and we will call our guests. There are mail boxes for the guest but if your stay is a short one we are glad to receive your packages. Transportation There are several bus stops on the campus. Some are just a few steps from Quarry View Residence. Monthly passes or per use passes are available. Restaurants There are a number of restaurants immediately across the street for fast food options and in the International Centre. The main campus has a large food court in the Market Place for breakfast and lunchtime options. Laundry and Cleaning There are 2 laundies in Quarry View Residence. You can put money on your student card to use this service or purchase a card at the Front Desk in Vallee Residence. Laundry soap is available at the Avondale Store. Before your arrival each unit is cleaned and fresh linens are placed on the beds. Each student is required to clean their own room and shared areas during their stay. Recycling Brock University is working towards sustainability on campus. All students are encouraged to recycle where possible. There are blue boxes at either end of the campus for recyclable plastics and paper products. Help us to go GREEN!

For students arriving from outside of the country you can pre-order basic cookware and dinnerware to be provided to you on arrival when you make a reservation online at Stayatbrock.ca. You can keep these items. Also you can sign out linens for your use during your stay if you purchase a care package.. What does it include? dinnerware (cup, cereal bowl, plate, glass, knife, fork, spoon) cookware (frying pan, pot with lid,cutting knife, spatula) cleaning supplies (small dish soap, wash cloth, drying towel) 1 roll of toilet paper, 1 bar soap, 1 large garbage bag, 1 small garbage bag, 3 hangers Bed Linen Package If you purchase a care package, you can sign out bed linens on arrival for your use during your stay. If you do not return and sign the linens in a $100 charge will be applied to your account.

7 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS How do I call home? Each guest has a telephone in their room. On Campus calls Local calls - Dial the four digit extension - Dial or local telephone number Long Distance - Use a phone card (available at the Front Desk for a fee) Toll Free Calls - Dial 9 + (1 800, 1 855, or 1 888) + telephone number How do I check my voic messages? Dial 7000 to set-up voic , default password is set as 22 + extension, reset password for further security. What is the smoking policy? As Brock is a smoke-free campus, smoking is not permitted in any residence, which includes entrances to residence buildings such as front stoops of Village and Quarry View units. Smoking on campus is acceptable in designated areas only. The closest designated smoking areas are outside of East Academic Building 3 and 573 Glenridge Ave. on the Southeast Sidewalk. Hookahs and similar smoking devices are not permitted in residence; any student wishing to possess or use a hookah for religious purposes must seek and receive prior written permission. Is there a microwave and toaster? There are no microwaves provided in Quarry View Residence. If you would like to rent a microwave or toaster for the duration of you stay call extension How do I do laundry? There are 2 laundries in Quarry View residence located in Block 3 and 5 in the basement. You will receive a laundry access card on arrival and it will allow you to access the room. A load will cost you $1.75. You will need to fill up your student card at the one card office in the Market Place or online by credit card. If you are a guest that does not have a student card then purchase a laundry card at the front desk which you can refill as you require this. Maintenance issues -- Where do I call? Our Front Desk is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week to take your calls. The staff can advise you on when and how the maintenance problem will be rectified. How do I check out? Before 10am on the day of check-out, you will need to remove your items from your unit. If you are the last guest leaving your unit, you will need to do the following. Remove all garbage and secure your unit by checking all windows and doors in the unit before you leave the unit. The temperature of the unit should be left at 20 degrees Celcius if you are the last person in the unit to leave. Keys are not to be left in the unit. Please return your keys to the front desk to properly check-out of your unit. The keys must be properly signed to guarantee that lost key charges will not be invoiced after your departure. 8 How much does it cost? Basic Accommodation - $21/night rate - Must be 60 or more nights of consecutive accommodation. Payment must be made in full on arrival by cash, debit, traveller s cheques, personal cheque(with student number) or credit card. If payment is not made in full then the day rates apply. No special requests for an A-room, upper unit or other specific requests are eligible for this rate. The assignment is guaranteed to be with guests of the same gender and will be randomly assigned based on availability. Housemate requests are accepted. Taxes are not applicable. No payments are to be made by student account. No exact room assignments are available until check-in. Upgraded Accommodation - $25.25/night rate- Special requests for an A- Room, upper unit or other special requests (while subject to availability and if confirmed) will be at this rate. The reservation must be 60 or more nights of consecutive accommodation and payment must be made in full on arrival by cash, debit, traveller s cheques, person cheque(with student number) or credit card. The assignment is guaranteed to be with guests of the same gender. Housemate requests are accepted of the same gender. Taxes are not applicable. No payments are to be made by student account. Exact room assignments are available 1 week prior to arrival. Accommodation nights - $25.25/night rate- Payment must be made in full on arrival by cash, debit, traveller s cheques, personal cheque(with student number) or credit card. The Brock University Conference Centre does not provide transportation from the airport or other transportation terminals for students arriving from outside the country.
