8 IARC concluded June 2012: Diesel exhaust carcinogenic to humans The Working Group found that diesel exhaust is a cause of lung cancer (sufficient evidence) and also noted a positive association (limited evidence) with an increased risk of bladder cancer (Group 1).

9 COPD A Danish study (2009) which examined 300 scientific articles on COPD concludes that there is good evidence that outdoor pollution can cause COPD In 2003 the American Lung Medical Society (ATS) concluded that around 15% of COPD cases are due to occupational exposure to dust, smoke, gases and vapors, for non-smokers 30% [13].

11 Bladder cancer is recognized in Denmark as an occupational disease 3 airport workers have been compensated. Part of the conclusion in one of cases: Dr. med. Jørgen H. Olsen, Danish Cancer Society have had your case for evaluation. He has concluded that it is likely that either your smoking habits, or your exposure to exhaust gases, or both in combination, are the cause of your cancer. Jørgen H. 12 New Study in Denmark The study will confirm or deny whether occupational exposure to particulate air pollution in Copenhagen Airport is associated with health effects. The study will include current and former airport workers of Copenhagen Airport and a comparable control group, a total of approx. 72,000 people. The Danish disease registries will be used to find out if the airport workers have a greater risk of developing heart disease, chronic lung diseases and cancer of the lungs and urinary tract than the control group.
