To see that my child attends Mass on Sundays and Holy Days and to accompany my child to Mass. 2. To see that my child attends all Faith Formation Sessions, Eucharist Enrichment Sessions and necessary practices. 3. To attend the Parent Sessions and Eucharist Enrichment Sessions. 4. To support and encourage my child in preparation by participating in family activities and by assisting with all home assignments. 5. To help my child learn the basic prayers that I will receive and responses for the celebration of the sacraments. 6. To pray for and with my child as well as reading the Bible with him/her. 7. 4 Enrichment Session #1 Wednesday, February 22, :30-7:30pm OR Sunday, February 26, :15-10:15am First Communion Children and at least one parent must be present. Choose the one that best fits your schedule. Prayer Partners will be made for the Family Liturgy. Please bring a small picture of your child to put on the Prayer Partner.

5 2 nd Grade Family Liturgy Saturday, March 11, :30PM All First Communion families are invited to attend mass and a pizza dinner. Children will be presenting their Prayer Partners for Parish Members to take. Please bring one/some of the following items for the Holy Family Food Pantry: Toothpaste Toothbrushes Shampoo Hair Conditioner Children will meet in the O Hara Fellowship Hall at 4:15 and process in as a group. Please make sure your child knows where you are seated as they will join you after they hang their Prayer Partners on the tree.

6 Simple Reconciliation Saturday, April 1, AM Children will draw numbers as they enter giving the order to receive Reconciliation The whole family is encouraged to take part in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Please wear clothing that is neat and respectful for a special church service. Please be timely as we will begin promptly at 10AM.

7 Enrichment Session #2 Sunday, April 9, :15-10:15am OR Wednesday, April 19, :30-7:30pm First Communion children will make their banners at this Enrichment Session. Depending on the timeframe your child needs to complete the banner you may come to one session or both! All materials are available to make the banners and no outside materials are allowed. A picture for the banner is recommended, but the family must supply it. A parent must attend this session with their child. The banners will be hung in church for the weekend Masses. You will be able to take your child s home after First Communion on Saturday, May 6 at 1PM.

8 First Communion Practice Sunday, April 30, 2017 Following 10:30 Mass (About 11:45am) Please bring your child to the church by 11:45am. Return to the church at 12:30pm for a short parent meeting to keep you informed about the happenings on First Communion Day. Please be timely so that we may start practice on time. Thank you!

9 General First Communion Information Sunday Obligation: Does this fulfill my Sunday Obligation? Not really. It is too early in the afternoon to fulfill your Sunday Obligation. However, we will be using the Sunday Readings and taking up a collection, and Father John has indicated that it is up to you whether you choose to have it fulfill that obligation. I would suggest that you bring your family back on Sunday morning so that you child may celebrate his/her 2nd Communion. Clothing Choices: No hats on the girls other than veils or simple hair pieces. New shoes please practice walking in them especially if they have heels of any height (remember, they are just 7/8 years old.) No gloves on the girls. It will probably be warm in the church, so I would suggest no jackets or sweaters on the boys. Keep the ties simple. Pictures: There will be no pictures or videos taken during Mass. This means no pictures/videos taken while the children are processing in until after they process out. Individual pictures will be offered that will be taken after Mass in the Day Chapel with a group picture being taken just before Mass. Seating: After the group picture is taken, we will take the children down to the Fellowship Hall to line them up. The children will process in together and sit together as a class. Banners: The banners will be yours to take after the First Communion Mass. They will hang for the week prior to First Communion. Please don t forget to get yours.
