1 NEVI PLP Program (subject to change) Basic features The NEVI PLP examination board is responsible for the content of examination and is made up of: a board-level representative from the relevant professional domain (who will also be the chairman of the examination board); examiners with relevant expertise and skills; a representative from the NEVI PLP training programme team. Stichting NEVI Examens is responsible for the organisation and execution of the exam. will tie in with the structure of the training: A. Six learning modules B. Group-based business case C. Peer coaching Below we describe how A, B and C are covered in your examination. A. Six learning modules of the six learning modules will be handled in two different ways. 1) Each candidate will be required to write an essay about module 1/2, 3/4 and 5/6. In this essay, the candidate must specify a problem in their organization that he/she can solve by using the learning material covered in the modules. For further details, please refer to Appendix 1 Essay guidelines. 2) A candidate's participation during the learning modules will also be evaluated. After each learning module, each candidate is required to write a blog about their learning experiences during the module, and reflect on what the module has given them. Assessment of A.; Six learning modules A1) The candidate's three essays will be reviewed and graded. The straight average of the three grades makes up 100% of the final grade. A2) The candidate's level of participation during each unit, as displayed in the reflection blog, is rated with a Pass/No Pass mark. The candidate's overall performance on the six learning modules will be assessed based on the above procedure. All calculated grades will be rounded off to 1 decimal place. To pass the NEVI PLP training programme, the results achieved on/over the six learning modules must meet the following requirements: the (rounded) calculated final grade for the three essays must be at least 5.5; the grade for an individual essay must not be below 4.5; a candidate is allowed to have one No pass for a reflection blog Re-examinations are subject to the following rules: there is only one resit opportunity for the candidates that score lower than 5.5 for an essay; the grade of the resit will replace the grade of the original essay; in the event of more than one No Pass for the reflection blog, an additional assignment will be given, for which the candidate must earn a pass mark. 2 B. Group-based business project This comprises the following: B1. Report B2. Workshop (team performance and individual performance) B1.; Report The report is a group product that will be developed in interaction amongst the group members whilst working on their business project. This report must deal with the content, approach and objectives of the project formulated. Appendices 5 Bibliography 1 * The following subjects must at least be addressed: What are the quantitative and qualitative implications of the solution/model or something similar for a company? The management, board of directors, etc. will eventually always want to know that. Alongside using a methodologically sound approach, this is an important aspect of the assessment. Implementation guidelines or practical guidelines. How to approach this? What to generally look out for during implementation or what to pay extra attention to. This also goes for the way in which implementation can be handled. What a possible implementation entails must also be specified. Font and font size: at candidate's own discretion, taking into account that it should be easily readable (i.e. not too small). Stichting NEVI Examens PLP 2015
3 B2.; Workshop The workshop must set out to convey the selected solution(s) from the business project. The candidate must garner support for his/her solution(s) among the audience - of fellow examination candidates, teacher(s) and examination board (at least three members). The candidate is supposed to present his/her subject and any aspects that require further explanation in a challenging and engaging way. The idea is for the workshop to be interactive, i.e. not only a presentation! The workshop is made up of two successive parts: o interactive part to convey insights (no longer than 1.5 hours); o discussion with audience (no longer than 0.5 hours). The specified duration includes possible breaks. This timetable is adhered to strictly. Over the entirety of the workshop, each group member is required to make a substantial visible and assessable contribution to proceedings. Within a framework that will be specified further, the working group running the workshop will be responsible for preparation, organisation and execution of the workshop. In preparation for the workshops, each business case group will send specific information about their case to the other participants. Assessment of B.; Group-based business project Report The contents of the report itself will be assessed, and the resulting grade will be the same for each group member. The grade for the paper must not be below 5.0. Workshop Both the workshop itself and each candidate's individual presentation during the workshop will be assessed. The workshop as a whole (including individual presentation of the candidate) will be graded based on quality, contents, and whether the group has managed to garner sufficient support for the solutions they selected. Assessment will also look at whether the method(s) used during the workshop is (are) aligned with the audience's level and is (are) efficient and effective considering the nature and content of the message(s) that the group wants to get across. The grade for the group performance will apply to all group members. The grade must not be below 5.0. Each individual group member's input will also be assessed. As a result, the workshop must be organised as such that each group member takes care of a specific part of the workshop. Assessment aspects include: personal presentation (including attitude and presence); mastery of the material; flexibility in dealing with circumstances during the workshop (ability to adapt); persuasiveness, reasoning skills and line of argumentation; focus. Each group member will be assessed for their individual performance, which will be the average of the grades awarded by the attending examination board members. The grade must not be below 5.0. 4 Final assessment of the whole of module B.; Group-based business project The assessments in module B will result in one single grade as the final mark for module B. This grade is calculated as follows: the grade for the report must not be below 5.0 and will make up 60% of the final grade; the grade for the workshop as a whole (group presentation) must not be below 5.0 and will make up 20% of the final grade; the grade for the individual presentation during the workshop must not be below 5.0 and will make up 20% of the final grade. The grade for module B resulting from the above procedure will be rounded off to 1 decimal place. The resulting (rounded) grade must at least be 6.0 for the candidate to pass the NEVI PLP training module. The separate sections of the business project cannot be repeated. If the candidate fails to meet the above requirements, a repeat of the business project as a whole will in certain cases be possible. The way in which this second chance will be organised will be determined as and when each case arises (also refer to general on the last page). C. Peer coaching This concerns an assessment of the examination candidate's individual qualitative and quantitative input in the peer coaching. Both the PLP program coach and the participants will play a role in this assessment. Assessment of C.; Peer coaching Based on an assessment format, the PLP Program Coach will give each individual group member a final assessment of Pass/No pass. Both during and after each session, the PLP Program Coach will give all participants personal feedback. The final assessment for the peer coaching process must be a Pass. It is important to know that confidential and/or personal information from the peer coaching sessions will not be shared with the examination board. The examination board will only receive the PLP Program Coach's final assessment along with necessary and relevant professional information. How is the final grade for the total examination calculated? To qualify for the NEVI PLP diploma, the candidate must achieve a final grade of at least 6.0 for A, B and C combined. Aside from that, the criteria as listed for modules A and B must also be met. This is subject to the following: the straight average of the grades for module A (the 3 essays and participation during the units) counts as 60% of the final assessment; the candidate cannot have more than one No pass for reflection blogs; the final grade for module B (group-based business project) counts as 40% of the final assessment; the assessment for the peer coaching process must be a pass. The grade resulting from the above method will be rounded off to 1 decimal place. The rounded grade is the final grade for the NEVI PLP training programme. Stichting NEVI Examens PLP 2015
5 General In the event that a candidate does not pass the full NEVI PLP examination, possible positive assessments on A, B and/or C will remain valid for two subsequent PLP editions. Re-examination is possible once, only for the essays from module A (the learning modules) and the business project (on conditions that are yet to be determined). fees Please check for the re-examination fees. Proviso The above information is subject to change. The Board of the Stichting NEVI Examens reserves the express right to adapt schemes to advancing insights. In doing so, the Board will adhere to commonly accepted standards of reasonableness and fairness. In conformity with the examination regulations, a candidate can lodge an objection to the result of assessments, with the exception of the assessment of peer learning performance.
