1 Bedens Brook News Celebrating 50 Years Inside this issue: February 2015 The Bedens Brook Club 50 th Anniversary A Golden Jubilee Volume 1, Issue 1 Golden Jubilee 1 Junior/Scout Camp 1 Pee-Wee Camp 1 Paddle Tennis 2 Events 3 Reciprocal Dining 4 Junior Golf 5 Half Day Pee-Wee Camp This summer Pee-Wee Students who have turned 4 as of June to 5 years of age will enjoy a half- day filled with games, story time, swimming lessons, activities and fun, fun, fun. Sessions-Same as Scouts and Juniors Cost- $ per child per Session I, II and III Time-9:30am to 1:00pm It s been said that The Bedens Brook Club began one beautiful day in 1962 when Jack and Mary Murray were riding horseback through the woods adjacent to their Windy Hill Farm. Looking over the Hopewell Valley with the Sourland Mountains in the background, Jack reportedly turned to his wife and said, Wouldn t this be a wonderful setting for a golf course? And just 3 short years and 113 Original Charter Members later, the course was ready to challenge its first foursome with President Jack Murray having the honor of striking off the first ball marks a very special year for The Bedens Brook Club. It is the year our club turns 50, marking half a century of providing first-class facilities for golf, tennis, swimming and platform tennis and a place for members of the greater Princeton area to relax and socialize. The term Golden Jubilee is used to mark a 50 th anniversary and is where we take our inspiration. A special 50 th Anniversary logo has been created and inspired by this term and will be displayed and used throughout the club for this one year only. We are honored the Board of Trustees has asked us to co-chair the 50 th Anniversary Committee and have already begun work on ways we can celebrate this historical milestone. Our vision is to involve and engage all members, young and old, in small and large ways throughout the year. We already have so much in store planned for the upcoming year but always welcome ideas from the larger membership so please feel free to reach out to either of us at any time. Looking forward to an exciting year! Lisa Pisano David Padulo Summer Sports Camp Scouts and Juniors This summer enjoy a variety of sports activities and instruction given in the areas of tennis, paddle tennis, swimming and golf.
