9 4W Zhiliang Fang Precious moments of the day Our junior debate team took part in the Hong Kong Secondary School Debating Competition. Jasmine Fok (2W), Myra Fong (2W) and Christy Kwan (2W) were the core members of the team. Having gained some experience in the first term, they did fabulously in the second, getting straight wins from start to finish and winning one of the regional finals in the whole territory. On the motion That Hong Kong s domestic helper system is a form of modern day slavery in the final, the girls, who had been together as a team for only one year, formulated a better argument and were able to roll with the punches by making sharp rebuttals. Throughout the competition, they showed excellent critical thinking skills and good awareness of potential opposition attacks.
