3 THE NERD ANATOMY I F TH E LE D I S... fl ash ing RE D + WH ITE THE NERD is in pairing mode. LED B UT TO N Press & hold for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode. FLASHING QUICKLY (3 blinks) THE NERD is trying to connect to your headset or speaker. PULSING (fade in/out) THE NERD is connected to your headset or speaker and waiting to stream audio. F L A S H I N G ( 1 o r 2 b li n k s) THE NERD is streaming audio to your headset or speaker. 4 5

4 1 GET CONNECTED PREPARE YOUR HEADSET Before you can stream audio from your computer to your Jawbone headset or speaker, you need to pair your headset or speaker with the NERD Press & hold the TA LK B U T TO N. 2 Slide the POWER SWITCH on. 3 Wait for the LE D R I N G to flash red & white. 4 Release the TA LK B U T TO N. 6 7

5 PREPARE YOUR SPEAKER Place your Jawbone speaker into pairing mode (consult the user guide or visit jawbone.com/support). PA I R WITH TH E N E R D 1 Prepare your headset or speaker. 2 Plug the NERD into your computer. 3 Press and hold the N E R D CO N N E C T button for about three seconds until the N E R D LE D flashes red and white. Once paired and connected, you will hear a confirmation tone on your device. 4 Go to the sound settings on your computer and select Jawbone NERD as the output/input device (Mac) or playback/recording device (PC). 2 GET TALKING & MORE M A K E A CALL Use your computer to dial via Skype, Google Talk and others. Listen and talk through your Jawbone headset or speaker. STREAM AUDIO Listen to music, video and other computer audio through your Jawbone headset or speaker. NOTE Do not adjust the Bluetooth settings on your computer. To pair THE NERD with other Jawbone devices, repeat these steps. 8 9

6 ADJUST THE VOLUME Use the volume control on your computer or phone. Or, while on a call or listening to music, adjust the volume on your Jawbone headset or speaker. To adjust the volume on your headset, P R E S S + H O LD the TA LK B U T TO N and the volume will be set. If you are using a Jawbone ICON, you may need to download the latest update from M Y TA LK. JAW B O N E.CO M. SWITCH BETWEEN AUDIO & CALLS Listen and talk on your computer while staying connected to your mobile phone. The audio from your computer will fade away when you answer or make a call on your mobile phone. SAFETY INFORMATION The short wave radio frequency signals of a Bluetooth device may impair the operation of other electronic and medical devices. Switch off the device where it is prohibited. Do not use the device in medical facilities, aircraft, refueling points, close to automatic doors, automatic fire alarms or other automatically controlled devices.
