Group interviews will be conducted over the weekend of March 3-5, All applicants MUST be available to attend their pre-determined session. Consideration will be given to applicants who are unable to attend (e.g. attend University outside of Manitoba). Rescheduled interviews for such a consideration will be Monday, February 27 th and Tuesday, February 28 th. 2 OFFERED POSITIONS Special Notes: *Please check off all positions you are interested in *All positions listed below will require full participation during swimming and Phys. Ed. activities when assigned *A more detailed job description is available at *All wages include 6% vacation pay Who are our participants? Minis (ages 5-7) ð Our goal for the Minis is to create a playful environment where children can have fun and explore each day. Juniors (ages 8-11) ð The Juniors are all about adventure and trying new things. Our goal for this age group is to create these opportunities for them. Seniors (ages 12+) ð The Seniors are looking for a more mature experience that feels different than that of the younger participants. Classroom Leader (various ages) weeks Starting May 31 $12.25/hour Classroom Leaders are expected to create camp lesson plans in line with the established specific learning outcomes (leadership being a primary focus), purchase classroom supplies, and set up their classroom space. During July and August, Classroom Leaders teach lessons to camp participants, assess the leadership specific learning outcomes with all participants and ensure proper classroom management occurs. *In the event of low registration numbers, Classroom Leaders will assume the role of Group Leader. These positions require someone with a minimum of 30 completed credit hours in the following programs (please check off those that you are interested in and qualify for): Science (general or biology) Architecture Fine Arts Science (physics or chemistry) Computer Science Business Science (earth sciences or other) Or experience/interest in the following areas: Video Games Leadership (8+ year olds) Musical Theatre Robotics Arts & Crafts Cooking Website Design Stop Motion Animation Coding Leading inner city youth Leadership Superhero (4-7 year olds) Film Making Animals Coaches (various ages) Leadership Outdoor Education (8-15 years old) Head Coach weeks Starting June 7 $12.75/hour Assistant Coach 9-10 weeks Starting June 23 $12.25/hour Coaches will teach their respective sport for a minimum of 3 hours each day and spend the other hours of the day teaching physical education activities and games. Head coaches are expected to develop and execute practice plans to challenge and progress the skills of young athletes. These positons require someone with extensive coaching or elite level playing experience. 3 Soccer Dodgeball Group Leader 9-10 weeks Starting June 23 $11.75/hour Group Leaders are responsible for leading groups of up to 17 children to their daily activities. They are expected to assist in teaching both classroom and phys. ed lessons/activities, recording specific learning outcomes for all participants, manage group behavior, handle participant medication, take regular attendance, and participate in all activities. Children are ages 4-16 and activities vary from special interest to sport programs. Please rank (1=1 st choice, 2=2 nd choice, 3=3 rd choice) your preference for working with the following ages: Minis (ages 5-7) Juniors (ages 8-11) Seniors (ages 12+) Physical Education Leader 9-10 weeks Starting June 23 $11.75/hour Phys. Ed. Leaders teach various sports, phys. ed activities and games to children ages 4-16 throughout their week at camp. Leaders (2 per group) will have a group of children at any given time and are expected to teach, lead and participate during each scheduled activity. Please rank (1=1 st choice, 2=2 nd choice, 3=3 rd choice) your preference for working with the following ages: Minis (ages 5-7) Juniors (ages 8-11) Seniors (ages 12+) Support Leader (various ages) 9-10 weeks Starting June 23 $13.82/hour Support Workers provide 1-on-1 attention and support to children who require assistance throughout their time at camp. They are expected to assist children become integrated into their group, participate in all camp activities and create a fun and safe experience at Mini U. Only applicants with extensive experience working with people with special needs will be considered for these positions. Swim Instructor (various ages) FALL EMPLOYMENT $12.95/$13.45/$13.95 **Select this box if you are interested in learning more about the opportunity found below** Interested in working an additional week this summer? What about making an extra $ over the fall and winter? Mini U is seeking to hire swim instructors for our fall/ winter swimming lessons. Interested candidates are not required to hold a valid swim instructor certificate or be a lifeguard. Successful candidates will be invited to a one week training session, in June, prior to the start of summer camp training. This training will include certification in Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross and I Can Swim teacher training.

4 Full Time Lifeguard & Swim Instructor (various ages) 8-9 weeks $12.95/$13.45/$13.95 Lifeguards are responsible for the safety of all pool users during all business hours. Successful applicants will be scheduled for hours/week of teaching and guarding hours. First aid staff are responsible for administrative duties including first aid inventory and analyzing injury trends throughout the summer. First Aid staff also creates a dynamic and welcoming environment in the first aid room. Applicants must possess a valid First Responder Certification and have completed AT3.
