Set in magical Southern Tanzania, the Africa Safari Camp is a paradisiacal retreat, located at the entrance of the Selous Game Reserve, the largest reserve in Tanzania, and the second largest in Africa. The Rufiji river is within walking distance, with all its wonderful African wildlife and spectacular scenery. Staying at our camp is a memorable experience, full of adventure and excitement by day, and relaxation, ambience and romance by night. 2 The setting We have built the Africa Safari Camp right next to the entrance to the Selous Game Reserve, just on the Rufji river, and close to the airstrip and Mloka village. The Selous Game Reserve is located in southern Tanzania, and is easily accessible by road or air. Dar es Salaam is only a short 40 minute flight away, or a very scenic 5 hour drive. A safari and Zanzibar beach package is very popular. All furnished with rustic furniture and made from local, natural materials. Each Luxury Tent has a king size double bed and optional 5 single beds. Bathroom with large hot water shower, flush toilet, and wash-hand basin. All tents have electrical fan, lights and charging point for mobile phone or cameras. Luxury River Side Tents: Only a few meters from the Rufji river with spectacular views. Our Large traditional Safari Tents are big canvas tents with Makuti roof. All windows and doors have mosquito nets. Interiors are comfortable, cool and homely. All furnished with rustic furniture and made from local, natural materials. Each Luxury Tent has 2 king size double beds. Bathroom with large hot water shower, flush toilet, and wash-hand basin. All tents have a charging point for mobile phone or cameras and solar powered electric lamps. Tents are powered by ecological solar panels, but a backup generator is also available. This part of the camp is seperate from main camp, is built in an eco style and has spectacular views over the river. Luxury Bungalows: Traditional bungalows with a traditional grass roof, that give it that extra luxury feeling. All bungalows are facing to the pool. All windows and doors have mosquito nets. Interiors are comfortable, cool and homely. All furnished with rustic furniture and made from local, natural materials. Each Luxury Bungalow has a king size double bed and optional 5 single beds. 3 Africa Safari Fact Sheet The Camping Site: Our camping site is a huge area, prepared to set up your own tent and easy accessible for your jeep. The camping sites have their own hot water shower, toilets and bathrooms. We have extra tents for rent available. Restaurant: Our restaurant seats up to 50 guests, and we serve our delicious meals from early morning to the evening. All made from local ingredients, you will love it! Bar: Open sided, well stocked Bar with fantastic views over the bush. The bar is only a few metres away from the drinking hole, where you can see the elephants and other wild animals drinking and relaxing. Welcome: You are welcome! After your arrival by car, plane or game safari we have some snacks and a welcome drink ready for you. Activities: The Selous Game Reserve is fantastic for seeing lots of animals in a short time frame. The main difference with all other reserves in Africa is that in Selous we have natural rivers, even in the dry season, holding lots of water. You will find many animals around the rivers. Also, on each side of the rivers you will see completely different landscapes. We organise, with our own team of enthusiastic local staff, Walking Safaris, Village Tours, Boat Safaris and the big 5 Game Drives. In Tanzania you can see many animals, many times in large numbers, but you will have to be a little lucky to spot rhinos and leopards. Other information: Game Drives are Toyota Landcruiser or Landrover Safari Jeeps, 4 wheel drive vehicles for 2 9 people, always with official guide and driver. Cool drinks are available in the jeeps. River Safaris in boats with outboard motors Bush Walk safaris, inside the Selous with armed ranger and guide Village Tours: learn how local village life is. We are here in real Africa, beautiful, but the schools or locals are happy if you bring some pens or books. We have a VIP mini bus available for transfers For day activities we make a nice lunch box, drinks are also available. Weddings: We can organise a special wedding in the bush, ask us for quote. To be married in the African wilderness among the wildlife is very special experience. Honeymoons: Complementary romantic private bush dinners and sparkling wine sundowners can be arranged. Birthday cakes can also be prepared. Payment: With bank transfer or by credit card, only in advance, and expect an extra 5% for bank commissions. In the camp only cash payments are possible - in US Dollars or Tanzanian Shillings.

Transfer to Hotel The Selous Game Reserve is perfect for a 1 to 4 day Safari, and combining a Safari & Beach Holiday. We suggest a Safari for 2 up to 4 days, 2 or 3 nights. Flights from Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar will arrive around 9.30 in Selous and departure is around Park fee is for 24h, so an afternoon and a morning Jeep Safari is possible, but we recommend a full day Safari. Our Safaris always include a private, English speaking guide, driver and own management. The Safaris are high standard, and our own staff grew up in Selous.

6 Africa Safari CampTransportation Transportation to Selous: Flying to Selous: If guests arrive by plane to our airstrip (only few minutes from the camp), Selous Lower Mtemere, a landing fee of 5$ per person is payable to the Game Reserve. To avoid inconvence to our guests, we pay before their plane lands and include this on invoices and bills. There are various daily flights available from Zanzibar and Dar es Salaam to Selous, please ask us for a quote. We fly with Cesna Caravan 12-seated planes. Flight time to Dar es Salaam Selous is around minutes. Zanzibar Dar es Salaam is 20 minutes. We can arrange transfers from Hotel, international airport etc. Driving to Selous: It is possible to drive from Dar es Salaam to the Selous Game Reserve. Our village name is Mloka and it is very close to the Mtemere airstrip. It s a 250km drive, that takes you through the beautiful East African countryside and takes around 5 hours.
