ST. GEORGE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL & PRESCHOOL PRESENTATION
Slide 2 OUR MISSION At St. George International School & Preschool every day, with all our love and dedication, we support children from the earliest age to discover their unique self and their individual talents, and to confidently pursue a life path of knowledge and virtues.
HISTORY Slide 3 St. George International School & Preschool is a member of Wonder Group. The organisation educates more than 220 children with the care and dedication of more than 100 employees. Wonder Group JSC holds a licence for kindergarten management (St. George Preschool) and for school management (St. George School). It was established with the opening of Wonder World as a licenced kindergarten in 1996 with the aim of raising and educating children up to the age of 6 in an environment similar to the family. St. George School was established in 2004 as a private school. It represents the natural continuation of the Wonder World Kindergarten traditions.
LICENCES Slide 4 St. George Preschool (formerly Wonder World ) is a licenced private full-day kindergarten approved by Order # РД14-21/ of the Minister of Education. St. George School is a licenced bilingual education school (from Preparatory to 12th grade) approved by Order # РД14-99/ of the Minister of Education. St. George School is an EDEXCEL (2013) approved education and exam centre as per the National Curriculum for England and Wales. It can award International GCSEs and GCE Advanced level qualifications, which are among the most important admission requirements for most universities abroad. St. George School is registered as an International School at the Department for Education UK under ISN:

OUR EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM Slide 6 Education process in accordance with the State Educational Requirements of the Ministry of Education and Science for the Republic of Bulgaria English language education following the Edexcel frameworks for primary, Key Stage 3, IGCSE and GCE A level standards, which are based on the national curriculum for England and Wales Both programmes are taught simultaneously within the school day, and the English programme is taught during the optional course lessons and the individual interest classes. The weekly curriculum includes the mandatory general education subjects and classes in Children s Philosophy, Morals and Ethics, Ecology and Personal Development. Every day after 3:30 pm students can attend various sports activities (swimming, fencing, karate, gymnastics, yoga, football, dancing, etc.), as well as additional activities (chess, piano, architecture workshop, applied mathematics, etc.).

In 10th and 11th grade students prepare for GCE A-level exams (General Certificate of Education Advanced level), which are accepted at all English speaking universities. Our students are accepted in different international schools and universities, due to their proven academic preparation in Bulgarian and English languages. In this way our children grow up confident, inquiring and kind, as well as fully competitive against their peers all over the world, without being deprived of the benefits of Bulgarian education.

COMMUNICATION WITH PARENTS Daily and weekly reports
ST. GEORGE PRESCHOOL Slide 10 Effective January 2015 Wonder World Kindergarten was renamed St. George Preschool for the purpose of building a common corporate identity with St. George International School. St. George Preschool is a licenced Bulgarian kindergarten for children up to the age of 6. It was established in 1996 in compliance with the State Educational Requirements and applies its own and innovative education methods. More than 50 children, divided into four age groups, currently attend St. George Preschool. Approximately 30% of the children are foreign-language speakers and come from mixed-marriage families which positively influences the children s development in a rich multicultural environment.
ST.GEORGE PRESCHOOL S PRIORITIES Slide 11 At St. George Preschool children grow up in a calm environment, surrounded by love and attention to their individual personalities and encouraged by positive and stimulating educational methods. Starting at the age of 4 children attend lessons in Morals and Ethics and Children s Philosophy, which continue throughout the school levels and support the awareness of and development of their own system of values, their personal growth and the development of a positive attitude towards themselves and towards others.
ST.GEORGE PRESCHOOL Slide 12 ENGLISH LANGUAGE We successfully apply both the Play and Talk with Echo programme, which we developed, and the established English Jolly Phonics system. The daily English lessons are taught by native English speakers. The kindergarten is a bilingual environment which therefore means that children have the benefit of acquiring both languages equally and simultaneously and can automatically switch between them. ADDITIONAL SERVICES We regularly organise additional educational activities, as well as entertainment and sports: skiing, green and white schools, theatre and additional sports (swimming, tennis, rhythmic gymnastics, yoga, karate, etc.) St. George Preschool offers transportation of the children to and from school. Children can attend St. George Preschool on a half-day or on a full-day basis.
PARTNERSHIPS Slide 13 St. George International School and Preschool is a member of: ОМЕР (World Organisation for Early Childhood Education) since 2001 COBIS (Council of British International Schools) since 2014 EDEXCEL since 2013.
