In the first instance, please cntact the Frm Tutr r Year Team if yu have any cncerns abut yur child. If the cncerns are in regard t scial, emtinal, develpment r learning needs please cntact the SENCO directly. ASSESSMENT, PLANNING AND REVIEW/PARTNERSHIPS FOR PROGRESS Hw des the schl knw hw well my child is ding? Hw will I be kept infrmed abut hw well my child is ding? Hw regularly will I be updated n my child s prgress? Will I knw if my child is nt making prgress and what will happen? We cnduct baseline testing in literacy and numeracy fr all new entrants in rder t identify any additinal learning needs that may require supprt. In additin, there is cntinuus teacher assessment within the subjects and mre frmal data cllectins twice a year. Every year grup has a Head f Year wh mnitrs the prgress and attainment f a year grup and wh may liaise with the Inclusin Team in regards t whether additinal interventin is required. If yur child is n the Cde f Practice then there will be additinal termly review meetings t track prgress twards utcmes and evaluate interventins. Additinal supprt may be dcumented by an individual Plan / Prvisin Map. We may seek external supprt fr children cntinuing t experience significant difficulty this culd invlve an applicatin fr Educatin Health and Care Plan assessment.
2 CURRICULUM AND TEACHING METHODS ( INCLUDING GROUPINGS / INTERVENTIONS ) What is the curriculum and hw is it taught? Hw will the curriculum be adapted t meet the needs f my child? Hw flexible can teachers be in meeting the needs f my child? Is there any additinal supprt available t help my child reach his/her expected utcmes? Teachers are trained in special educatinal needs thrugh their initial teacher training which is cnslidated thrugh in-huse training run by the Inclusin Team and are therefre skilled at adapting the curriculum accrding t individual need. Gruping arrangements rganised carefully t maximise learning pprtunities fr all. Additinal adults may be used t help grups f students t develp their independent wrking skills. ACCESS TO LEARNING AND THE CURRICULUM Are there any special features r strategies t help children learn? Hw d I knw my child s particular need will be met? Fr children wh are n the Cde f Practice, teachers are prvided with Strategy Sheets giving them the infrmatin they require in regards t the individual child s needs. Therefre planning takes accunt f individual students needs. TESTS AND ASSESSMENTS : ACCESS ARRANGEMENTS What arrangements are available fr pupils t access tests and assessments? Hw will I knw if my child qualifies fr additinal supprt r time t access tests? Access arrangements are special arrangements t ensure a student is nt disadvantaged in an exam. In rder t be eligible fr access arrangements there needs t be a clear histry f need which can be evidenced by specialist testing and the students usual way f wrking in the classrm. We cnduct baseline testing fr all new entrants which helps us t identify if there are any students wh may benefit frm access arrangements. In additin teachers can refer any student within the schl fr further testing by ur specialist in-huse assessrs. If yur child is eligible fr access arrangements, yu will be infrmed by letter.

What is the schl s plicy n bullying? Greenshaw has a strng eths f pastral care which we feel is exemplified thrugh ur Year system. Where it has been identified that additinal supprt fr scial and emtinal needs is required, the Inclusin Team can refer t either internal r external specialist services which include: Mentring including ELSAs Grups t develp Scial Skills and/enhance self-esteem Access t specialist supprt e.g. CAMHS, Speech, Language and Cmmunicatin, Behaviur Management Lunchtime and after-schl clubs In additin t specialist services Greenshaw supprts scial and emtinal needs thrugh: Hme/Schl liaisn: Planners/Schl s n-line infrmatin system (FROG)/Reprt cards Shared target setting Staff presence at breaks and lunch, befre and after schl Use f CCTV Preparatin fr high schl There is a rbust Anti Bullying Plicy in place which seeks t supprt individuals and their families. ACCESSIBILITY TO PREMISES AND FACILITIES What facilities are in the schl t assist children with disabilities mve arund the building and take part in lessns? Greenshaw has an accessibility plan which takes int accunt ur duties under the Equality Act We have a lift and sme wheelchair access in parts f the schl. Greenshaw makes use f sme resurces which allws us t make reasnable adjustments t enable students t access the curriculum. These include clured verlays, adapted scissrs and rulers, pencil grips. If specialist equipment is required, Greenshaw will make apprpriate reasnable adjustments t meet individual s needs.
